With a overall feel of dirty and broken, the old building character lost its charm quickly. With dirty sticky floors leading to our room, you felt like you should turn around and head for the exit. After having to climb the stairs up 12 stories several times cause of broken elevator got old real quick. Which became more of a pain...

For the price we paid I expected a lot better. The room was small, we barely were able to move around. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The view was beautiful from atleast one window. The other window was facing a brick wall so there wasn't much to look at. The location was great.

We stayed at Hotel 504 in April. The lobby was beautiful, our room was beautiful and had lots of character to it. Our room was also quite large, with tons of windows. Only complaint is that there always seemed to be a 3+ minute wait for the elevator.

Only one elevator was working our first night. The second night both elevators was broken. This hotel has 16 floors and our room was next to the stairwell. Very noisy and the hotel did not offer us anything for our troubles.

Elevators didn't work and there is no valet parking. I've paid less for a nicer hotel in New Orleans. Room was decent and bed was comfy. The building is obviously older and could use a little maintenance. Also, the hotel is by a hospital so be prepared to hear sirens all night long with no view from your window.

I was very pleasantly surprised with my stay at the 504. I chose it because of the close proximity to my work, and events. I work with many luxury hotels in the city, and feel that the Hotel 504 met and surpassed my experiences with these hotels in important areas: cleanliness, staff guest attention, and the quality of the bed....

Hotel 504 location is Great for events at Mercedes Super dome. Walking distant. It's an old hotel, and smells like it. My daughter slept on a very stained sofa bed mattress- looks like blood. I am a Travel agent who strip my bedding upon departure. That's when I saw the stain

This hotel was decent for the price. It is a little bit outside of the French Quarter craziness and was fairly quiet at night. I believe there is some construction/renovation going on, but some of the wallpaper/ceiling paint was peeling. This made it feel not as taken care of, but it was fairly clean despite the cosmetic issues. Bed was...

Old building faulty toilet and shower. Prepaid for a two bed room a month prior. No room was available so wound up with one bed and a pullout couch. Staff was friendly enough but the building needs maintenance and the reservation policy is not helpful.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
