Hotels in NOLA can be a crapshoot. You want to be close to the action, but not be bothered by the noise (& debauchery) of it when you want to sleep. I picked this place because of its location and price (comparable to others in the area that had NO charm, it was a steal) I really loved this place!... More

I loved the hotel and the staff was friendly. Big perks were location to the French Quarter and The Ruby Slipper. Go to The Ruby Slipper to eat...it's a must. I would definitely stay here again...my only complaint was the air conditioner (reason for 4 stars and not 5). The room was set up where it blew on our faces... More

If you visit NOLA, then just Stay at the Pelham: the best choice. You want be disappointed. IT is so stylish and very much in tune with the NO 1700style! The lobby is furnished and decorated according to a late 1700 touch which takes you back in time to the fabulous French Revolution age. My room was wow! No windows... More

My husband and I loved this hotel. It was beautiful inside. The rooms had high ceilings. The artwork in the lobby was beautiful. This hotel was in a great location. It was on a quiet street just a block from Canal St. There was a store close. The Pelham was also close to many great restaurants. The Ruby Slipper shares... More

I absolutely love this hotel. The staff and management are always pleasant, the rooms are clean and the price is right! The location is perfect. It's not a Marriott or Hilton which is another reason to love this hotel. It truly reflects the essence of New Orleans in an intimate and personal setting. You cannot go wrong with this hotel.

The desk clerk ( forgot to write his name) was extremely funny and down to earth. Very professional. Helpful with suggestions for eating out and sight seeing. Would love to visit again in near future.

This hotel was a very nice find and although it is not in the French quarter it is such a short walk away. In fact, it is a short walk from most everything. It is clean and very charming. The Ruby Slipper is a café next door that has the most amazing breakfast but go early because the crowd lines... More

I got a room with no window, but that's not that bad. The room and the bathroom are quite spacious. The bed is big, soft and comfortable, I fell asleep almost immediately after my head touched pillows :) The staffs are very nice. The hotel is next to Ruby's slipper, you can have breakfast there. And it's also close to... More

Our granddaughter and I stayed in this wonderful hotel. I knew nothing about this hotel by we loved the location, cost and website. The room was huge, 4 poster comfortable beds and helpful staff. We will stay here again. The Resturant was The Ruby Slipper that connects to the hotel. Excellent brunch menu and food.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
