We stayed 4 nights and enjoyed our stay very much at the Pelham Hotel, with its very friendly and helpful staff. The hotel is located very centrally to all the attractions: the French Quarter and Harrahs are just steps away. There's no need for a car, as the streetcar is a block away on St Charles Ave. This will take... More

Great boutique hotel. Only few blocks from the French Quarter, Casino, Streetcar line, Canal Street. Friendly staff. Lively rooms. Free wifi. Reasonably priced. Would definitely stay again. Terrific restaurant attached...Red Slipper. Open for breakfast and lunch only...appeared busy for both.

We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights and it was alright. We got a great value 165$ on 2 weekdays for a windowless room. The room itself was somewhat cramped but very clean. Not having Windows it was alittle upsetting because we didn't have a working bathroom exhaust fan. 70$ for valet (35$ each day) was an only option... More

We like to stay here for the various meetings we have in downtown New Orleans. It is convenient to the CBD and the French Quarter, the rooms are charming and very up to date and the staff very New Orleans...savvy, colorful, helpful, professional. Valet parking available. The Ruby Slipper next door is terrific for breakfast and/or lunch.

Wonderful placed to stay !! Just make sure you park your car in a cheaper place!!! Its $30.00 a night there. Close to everything but not to close so you can enjoy the quiet! Great location. Very helpful staff and clean!!

We liked this hotel overall and it was good value...except when you added the cost of parking each night ($30/night), it wasn't quite such great value. Although we were told we could have the car within 5-10 minutes at any time, we tended not to want to go through the hassle and so just left the car parked most of... More

Hotels in NOLA can be a crapshoot. You want to be close to the action, but not be bothered by the noise (& debauchery) of it when you want to sleep. I picked this place because of its location and price (comparable to others in the area that had NO charm, it was a steal) I really loved this place!... More

I loved the hotel and the staff was friendly. Big perks were location to the French Quarter and The Ruby Slipper. Go to The Ruby Slipper to eat...it's a must. I would definitely stay here again...my only complaint was the air conditioner (reason for 4 stars and not 5). The room was set up where it blew on our faces... More

If you visit NOLA, then just Stay at the Pelham: the best choice. You want be disappointed. IT is so stylish and very much in tune with the NO 1700style! The lobby is furnished and decorated according to a late 1700 touch which takes you back in time to the fabulous French Revolution age. My room was wow! No windows... More

My husband and I loved this hotel. It was beautiful inside. The rooms had high ceilings. The artwork in the lobby was beautiful. This hotel was in a great location. It was on a quiet street just a block from Canal St. There was a store close. The Pelham was also close to many great restaurants. The Ruby Slipper shares... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
