We were placed in a room where there a sign of water damage on the ceiling. Well, very early the next morning, while we were still asleep, water started dripping in the middle of the bed. I felt the splash and realized it’s coming from the ceiling. We put a bucket/garbage to catch the water. Called reception and we were moved right away. But I wonder why they would even put guest in the room.

Found the room on Airbnb and was not disappointed. The pillows and bed were so comfortable I didn’t want to get up. Down sides was the lack of parking for the hotel. We had to find parking that didn’t break the bank (or looked like someone would break into the car overnight).

This was my first time in NOLA and our stay was awesome. Prior to our arrival, they called to let us know they were out of kind rooms, but UPGRADED us. They were welcoming and ready for us when we got there. Recommended a safe space to park our car (they do not have parking on site). Don’t know if i’ll come back to NOLA but would definitely stay here again!

Solid 1.5 stars. Would not recommend. We have stayed at the Magnolia in Dallas. Arrived at this hotel after 9 PM on a Saturday. There was no place to unload, no valet, no bell staff. A single desk The lone bartender was having a bad night, and closing the bar. The one front desk staff person seemed to be holding the whole hotel together. Our party of four rode the one tiny creaking rickety elevator two at a time; one with luggage. When we arrived to our room we realized it was next to the elevator shaft. were alarmed at how loud the elevator was; it made sleep near imposible. We requested another room but the desk clerk informed us the hotel was booked solid. The room was more spacious than many hotels and the two queen beds were comfortable. It was newly renovated and reminiscent of Ikea decor. It is an aspiring boutique but is more reminiscent of a third world hostel. Sadly the bad here outweighed the good. We were supposed to have perks including free room upgrade and two free drinks upon arrival. The desk staff suggested we could but a drink at a nearby bar The magnolia is a beautiful fragrant flower and a joy. The Magnolia not so much.

Hotel is fine, lobby is modern. I was given a ground floor room. It was updated but tiny, I have bruises from walking into the bed frame and table. The big problem was the noisy from the lobby. You can hear everything! It’s so echoey in the lobby and the rooms are just behind so someone just has to say good morning and you can hear it loud and clear. 5am I was woken by someone talking in the lobby. By 6:30 is was like trying to sleep in a train station.

Quiet, comfortable, and staff were very nice. The place is old but charming. The room was huge. The lobby is elegantly upgraded. I needed to store my luggage before and after my stay. Also needed a late check out. They were very accommodating. The texts to check on me were a very nice touch. I was told upon check in that housekeeping would be every 3 days but to let them know if I needed anything. I personally like not having anyone in there every day. Lots of stuff in walking distance. In that area and for that price all the hotels are really old. Well, historic, duh? The elevator could use an upgrade. But overall I loved it!

Room is clean, beds are comfortable, staff is very friendly and nice. They recommended BearCat restaurant on our first day and it was excellent. We arrived early due to our flight time and were able to leave our luggage securely at the hotel. They even texted us throughout our stay checking in on us. Shout-out to Dacia and India.

The hotel itself is lovely and the staff friendly and accommodating. I paid $70 to park for 2 nights in the parking lot right across the street from the hotel front door. On the 2nd night (June 1/2) someone came through the parking lot and broke out a window in every car in the lot. The front desk clerk missed the whole thing even though 2 cars parked on the street visible from the front desk were broken into as well. Very disappointing and made for a long, uncomfortable 12 hour drive home. We wouldn’t stay here again.
