This was our second stay at the Lafayette hotel, we enjoyed the hospitality and great service this hotel has. Valet parking is quick and easy and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. Our room was overlooking a small park full of beautiful oak trees a quiet and peaceful place to stay.

My wife and I enjoyed a 4 day, 3 night stay at the Lafayette. This place is full of "Old New Orleans." My wife described it as "classic and rustic." The staff were amazing - very courteous, and accommodating. I happened to mention, while checking in, that we were celebrating our anniversary. Very shortly after arriving at our "balcony room",... I had the pleasure of staying at the Lafayette hotel during Mardi Gras this year. Very friendly staff, rooms are beautiful and the beds are the most comfortable I've ever slept on. I highly recommend this hotel!

I really enjoyed my stay at The Lafayette Hotel in New Orleans. I found the rooms to be well appointed, very clean and comfortable, and I particularly liked the sort of old fashioned, classic decor, the beds having very high headboards. I had heard the hotel was pet friendly, but I saw no evidence of that, as there was no... More

The hotel was in a great location. It was easy to walk to where the action was yet a quiet and safe location. The room we stayed in was awesome. We had a living room and separate bedroom. Bathroom was a nice size. There was an area off the living room with a refrigerator and coffee maker. The bed was... More

The hotel staff was amazingly friendly. The hotel was the cleanest I have ever stayed, big chains have nothing on this place! Walking distance for almost all the place you'd want to go and see. On our next trip back we will definitely stay again. The only thing I wish was that the restaurant was open more often.

Great hotel next to a clean park. The room restroom was modern, the maids were perfect, the room air conditioning was awesome! Close walking to French Quarter, close to Starbucks, nice cafe across the street, close to affordable parking garage. We WILL re-book in the future!

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
