We stayed here for the first time and I can see why people return to this hotel. The staff is wonderful and friendly. The hotel is beautiful and the rooms have the most comfortable beds! The hotel is far enough away from Bourbon Street but everything that you could possible want is just outside the doors. Close to restaurants, French...

Hands down one of the best spots to stay in the city. My husband and I booked a room for 4 nights during Mardi Gras season and our cost for the stay was easily half of what other places were charging. We did book about 4 months in advance and were also able to get a AAA discount on top...

The hotel was clean, the room was very small but cute. The bellhop was very helpful in recommending a place to eat dinner, he even gave us a coupon for two free glasses of wine. Wish the pool was a bit bigger, and free coffee in the morning would have been nice. Parking fee is high at $34 a day.

My wife and I stayed here on May 20th, for one night, before moving to another hotel for her conference. The hotel was aesthetically beautiful. The courtyard especially is not to be missed. Our room was an interior Queen, so no windows, but it was just what we were looking for after wandering around the Quarter all day. The staff...

I've stayed at many hotels in my life, but this one is seriously the best hotel I have ever stayed at. We ended up staying two extra nights here because we loved it so much. Here is what's really great: - The room we stayed in didn't have a window, but it did have a window-like structure with a mirror....

Rooms are very nice with comfortable, maybe even soft bedding. A block a way from the river and three blocks south of Bourbon, easy to walk to everything. Very friendly and helpful staff. Rooms were quite, but all face courtyard so not much natural light.

We are enjoying our third evening at The French Market Inn. This is a great location on the edge of the French Quarter so you are away from the noise, but only a short walk to Bourbon Street and within walking distance to the Aquarium and the Riverwalk. Room is very clean, nice brick exterior wall soaks up any sound...

Small, cramped, in the window so small you couldn't throw a dog out of it if the place was on fire. Very poor adaptation from building to hotel. Will never stay there again. Average price and good location

The French Market Inn is in a great location in the French Quarter in easy walking distance to tourist attractions, restaurants, shops, public transportation and more. The hotel is a collection of 18th and 19th century buildings. Staff is friendly and very helpful. Rooms are very clean and comfortable but small (understandable since it's an old historic building), and are...

Staying in French Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
