After looking at previous reviews we booked this hotel and took the cheaper option of a windowless room, the room was huge and the lack of window no deterrent, the bed was also enormous and so comfortable, the pool tiny but good enough for a dip to cool off after a hot day out. The staff were welcoming and friendly... More

NANCY took our reservation by phone, checked us in, and out of this charming hotel. She is so good at her job and makes everyone feel glad that they chose to stay at French Market Inn! All the other staff members were friendly and helpful, as well. Our room was beautiful (just like the pics online), extremely clean and quiet.... More

I've seen the buildings that comprise this hotel plenty of times, but not until we stayed here, at the last minute, could I have known how unique and beautiful the place was, behind the street-side facade. Multiple older New Orleans buildings joined together to make an Inn full of character and charm. Interior courtyard was surprising, cool, and quiet...beautiful bricks,... More

This hotel is the best I've ever stayed and I travel a lot. The inn is covered in brick which really helped to mask the outside noise. Brick walls inside and out made it so lovely. The staff was the absolute best. We arrived early and not only did they store our luggage they called when our room was ready,... More

Met only 1 friendly staff member. The rest were cold and unhelpful. Room did not look like the picture at all. 1 tiny window barely letting in any natural light making it almost impossible to know what time of day it is. I had an issue on my first night with the bathroom plug draining out the water. I told... More

Great place. A couple minor hiccups. The toilet would not stop running and there was a drip from upstairs. Other then that we had a balcony room that faces the front. Rooms were clean. The design of the hotel is beautiful. It's like a maze. The pool is small but nice. Service was good. You get what you pay for.... More

I love this place!!! I've stayed in the fanciest, and they're none that compare to the uniqueness of this hidden jewel of a hotel. This buildings history dates back to 1722, and when you sit in the seclude, private courtyard you actually feel like you are brought back a little in history. Some of the rooms still have the original... More

Staying in French Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
