This is a very large hotel and we were fortunate to be on the 23rd floor with a wonderful view over the city and the Mississippi River. A large hotel loses that personal connection a little but if comfort is all you need then you will get it here. One thing I will have a big moan about is why...

Thank you for your review. We are pleased to have shared our excellent location with you however confused by your comment placing us 4 blocks from the French Quarter. We are actually adjacent to the Vieux Carré, as we are located on Canal Street, which is the western border of the French Quarter. We are also happy to hear that...

When we checked in early, we sat at the lobby bar for snacks and a beverage. The restaurant manager got our room cards and spent time giving suggestions for things to do and see. The hotel was ideally located to the French Quarter, the weekend markets and walking distance to the Smoothie Center. We walked everywhere during our long weekend...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
