Just got back from New Orleans and I must say I wasn't in charge of hotel arrangements this trip....but I was pleasantly surprised with the Sheraton. I always try and stay deeper in the quarter but this location was really good! Hotel was very nice and superior on cleanliness! I would stay here again!!!

The hotel is average. Rooms clean, standard Sheraton interior. However the check-in was painful. I was about 20th in the line. 3 positions were open!!!!??? This is a big hotel in a busy city. Seriously Sheraton!? You can do better, and I hope you will

Labor Day Weekend/Southern Decadence is a big holiday weekend in New Orleans, and the hotels are all packed to the rafters and usually requiring a 3 night minimum, so we were happy to move to the Sheraton to be closer to the Bourbon action. The lobby is huge, with a giant painting of Rodrique's blue dog on the piano. We... More

Having stayed at the Sheraton Hotel several years ago I fully expected the same service and quality stay as in the past. Only reason I changed hotels in the past few years was I was given complimentary rooms at another New Orleans and took advantage of that perk. This time I chose the Sheraton because of a great discounted rate... More

This was my first time staying at a Sheraton. Excellent staff. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Excellent location on Canel Street. It was right in the middle of everything. Easy walking to everything, Bourbon St, the casino within the Harris Hotel, the Mississippi River, shopping and of course the Trolleys. I would go back in a heartbeat.

The Reception is as big as a football pitch which is so busy it's hard to get attention. There are 49 floors and I was on the 9th. Not very good views but that's too be expected in a built up area. The rooms were to a high standard and very spacious not complaints there. What let it down was... More

We stayed at the Sheraton four nights while in NOLA for a friends wedding. The hotel staff were all very friendly. Especially the housekeepers. We kept out privacy sign up the majority of the time and when we left the room the HK staff were always quick to ask if we needed anything and very accommodating. I also liked the... More

We absolutely loved our one night stay at the New Orleans Sheraton. The hotel in amazing in every way. The lobby is beautiful and large, the restaurant and lounge are welcoming and I love the large windows looking out on to Canal Street from the lobby/lounge area. The rooms are AMAZING! We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. Centrally located, close to French Quarter/Bourbon St. It was far enough away when you want quiet from all the crazinez of NOLA. Rooms were big beautiful. Loved the gym/pool area. Everything is updated. The lobby is great to hang out and have a drink. The service was great! Overall I'm very happy... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
