Quaint and sufficient. With the architecture and ambiance I always hope to find in New Orleans. Has a nice little breakfast but you will have to be an early bird to get that worm because it's only until 930am. Overall was cute, clean and adequate for a couple of nights sleep in a city with nonstop activities. We Will stay... More

A friend and I stayed here with our 2 girls. The loft room was great for our trip. The location was great as it was located less than a block from the street car that took us back and forth to our daily activities. Restaurants were close by too. Our room was clean and provided everything we needed.

A family owned and operated boutique hotel in a renovated historical building. The rooms were clean, the free breakfast was great and the service was fine. Book ahead of Mardi Gras and conventions. Free parking lot. Can walk to St. Charles Ave 1/4 of a block and access the streetcar to take to the French Quarter. I will return, highly... More

I have already recommended this hotel to my friends. We stayed in room 301 which is in the older part of the hotel and I couldn't have been happier. The quaint room with it's brick walls, club foot shower/tub, and beautiful hardwood floors was so lovely. You know there is history in those walls. The bed was comfy, water was... More

If you want to feel like you are staying on the set of A Streetcar Named Desire then this is for you. It looks very run down outside, but the room we had, one with the loft, was clean. Breakfast was like one at a H I Express. It is served in the open courtyard where the guests are allowed... More

We had a three night stay here and really appreciated the great value this older hotel offered. A great bonus was the free parking. We were on a road trip and paying expensive car parking prices just wasn't in our budget. I found the rooms comfortable the staff helpful. Breakfast was more than adequate and the location to the street... More

Convenient location in Garden City to attend some family events. Nice older courtyard style hotel. Easy access to St. Charles streetcar to travel downtown if desired. Personable, pleasant front desk staff gave good suggestions for directions and restaurants nearby and other information. Rooms comfortable enough with exposed red brick walls and 14' ceilings. Loft offered more personal space for several... More

This is an older hotel in the garden district. The desk clerk was friendly. The room was clean and had an old feel. The room was 2 story with a spiral staircase. The wi-if didn't work most of our stay which was unfortunate. It was in walking distance of some small restaurants. Not a bad place for the price.

My family and I stayed at Prytania Park on the night of 6/29/16 to leave on a cruise the next day. To start with we had no idea about how nasty looking and run down the area was where this property was located and booked online via a third party booking site based on price and proximity to the cruise... Dear Readers, The simple truth, this reviewer is pissed off because he made a major mistake when he made his reservation himself online via a 3rd party and did not want to take responsibility for it. He tried his hardest to make it our mistake, but failed miserably. In his hands, via his confirmation letter, he had written proof told... More

Staying in Garden District

Neighborhood Profile
Garden District
Head to the Garden District for the full-on New Orleans experience replete with quaintly clanking streetcars, proudly grandiose antebellum mansions, picture perfect avenues lined with live oaks loaded down with Spanish moss, and a wealth of beautiful churches and many more architectural marvels. Even a brief excursion here makes plain why it’s called the Garden District. So, when you visit be sure to give yourself ample time for admiration at a languidly slow pace befitting such gentile strand of riverside living and to allow you to maximize each opportunity to stop and smell the roses – and whichever other blooms you might come across. While taking it all in, you’d do well to dine at one of the city’s most beloved destinations for regional cuisine. Gourmands from far and wide (and right round the corner) swear the age-old Commander’s Palace is the best restaurant in town – and have been doing so since it opened back in 1880.
