Perfect location. Very close to French market and other French quarter attractions. 10 minute walk to Steamboat Natches. Hotel bar is a hidden gem, the Hurricanes are delicious. Rooms are clean, comfortable, and quiet.

We stayed in a suite and it was excellent. The hotel is convenient to everything in the French Quarter, but is in a quiet area only a five-minute walk from Jackson Square. The room was clean and large and the king bed was comfortable. The hotel is arranged in several sections surrounding courtyards with only one way in and out... More

Beautifully historic hotel!! The rooms were very clean and updated. Pool was nice but wish it had more seating and lounge chairs. Courtyards were beautiful and quaint but could get loud if staying in a room that faced the courtyards. Either way we would most definitely recommend this hotel and stay again!!!

Brilliant hotel for central French quarter. Nothing is very far away. Rooms are adequate and clean. No breakfast option which is unusual but we found a couple of nice places for breakfast nearby. Swimming pool was not one I would swim in but that's just because it's very enclosed and pretty dark.

This was a perfect location to enjoy the riverfront and the French Quarter. All the galleries, shops and restaurants are close and the neighborhood is interesting without needing to tangle with the crowds on Bourbon St. I traveled with my 14 year-old grand-daughter and we found lots of appropriate adventures ( try a Segway tour of the Quarter and Treme).... The location is a plus, and we will continue our here. There had been a couple of issues that came up at our last stay and they were very apologetic and didn't charge for a night. Perfect for families!

Excellent service and no issues. We arrived late. The room was ready and the front desk was kind and speedy. All areas of the hotel were clean. We swam in the pool. It looked like it had a dirty bottom but it was just a dark bottom and was very clean as well. I enjoyed my stay as it is... More

We have just spent 5 nights in this lovely hotel located in the heart of the historic French quarter. It is beautifully located to visit most of the city's attractions, and we spent happy days wandering between museums and art galleries, restaurants serving delicious food, and glorious jazz venues. The hotel is a meld of ancient facade and courtyards, old... More

This hotel has so much potential but had one huge issue and made one mistake that should never ever happen. My second night the air conditioning went out to the entire hotel and I suspected something was wrong at 11pm and knew something was wrong at 3am, however when I was in the lobby at 6am it sounded like they... They have a great staff at Hotel Provincial. Very helpful and friendly in everything we needed from the front desk staff, bartenders and bellmen. We felt right at home. Loved the unique furnishings of the room we had. Good location and the parking lot was very secure.

Staying in French Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
