Hotel was very quaint. Great location between Bourbon St and Decatur St. Incredibly friendly staff. Can only give it 4 stars because of the musty smell of the rooms. Very overpowering at times. My asthma flared up more than once due to the smell.

The hubby and I stayed here in early January after we got off a cruise. I didn't sleep good at all on our cruise so we after we checked in we took a nap to refresh ourselves. OMG it was the best sleep I had ever had!!! The hotel is located in an excellent location, we were able to walk... More

We just returned from 3 great nights! The last time we stayed here was over 10 years ago. I am so glad we stayed here again! From the time we checked in until we checked out the staff was very friendly. Rooms were clean and the AC worked great! Pool was nice for an afternoon swim! We were close enough... More

This hotel scores a perfect 10/10! Historic hotel in the heart of the French Quarter, close to everything but away from the noise and drama of Bourbon St ( just 2 small blocks)... Easy ( even in the August heat ) walking distance to Jackson Square, Cafe du Monde, French Market, Riverfront ( Steamboat Natchez ) and Bourbon Street. Our... More

My wife and I are from Europe visiting New Orleans on vacation. I have been in New Orleans before for multiple times on business occasions staying at 5-star hotels. But this time we were on vacation and looked for lower cost accommodation Eventually I found this hotel in the Vieux Carre, but away from the trodden paths of the fun-loving... More

We were delighted with Hotel Provincial. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were nice and the pool was a great way to end the day. This great boutique hotel was superbly located. Very near all the spots of interest yet quiet and peaceful

Hotel is perfectly located close to all the action in the French Quarter but yet quiet. It is a historic building that has charm. Staff is very nice and the bartender at the Ice Bar was great. The hotel was clean and bed was comfortable. The only negative is since the hotel is a historic building the windows do not... More

I booked two nights here; the 14th and 15 of August 2016 and was given room 215 (standard kingsize room) as many people mentionned it in their review, it does not looklike the pictures on the website. I am always a bit perplexed by reviewers that give rate reviews and kick a hotel up to high ranking which at least... More

Perfect location. Very close to French market and other French quarter attractions. 10 minute walk to Steamboat Natches. Hotel bar is a hidden gem, the Hurricanes are delicious. Rooms are clean, comfortable, and quiet.

We stayed in a suite and it was excellent. The hotel is convenient to everything in the French Quarter, but is in a quiet area only a five-minute walk from Jackson Square. The room was clean and large and the king bed was comfortable. The hotel is arranged in several sections surrounding courtyards with only one way in and out... More

Staying in French Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
