This hotel was perfect for our trip to New Orleans. The location makes it easy to walk every where in the French Quarter. There are so many restaurants and attractions nearby. The staff were all very nice and friendly. We were traveling with our kids and appreciated how quiet and family friendly the hotel was. The main pool was so nice, we spent alot of time cooling off here, we didnt go to the smaller pool.

We stayed in a petit suite with two beds, the room was a bit small, but the beds were comfortable. Overall we enjoyed our stay here.
If we ever go back to New Orleans I would want to stay here again.

We had a wonderful stay in the French Quarter thanks to the Hotel Provincial. It is ideally located near the French Market putting just about any location within walking distance. Our check-in experience was a breeze and we stayed in the building backed up against Decatur. Every morning we woke to the sound of musicians playing in the market area which was wonderful.

The maid service staff is very accommodating, making it so that out late nights and late morning departures for the day still meant we came back to a tidy and refreshed room.

This location is very close to the river and the train tracks, so there is the sound of steamboats and train whistles on occasion but nothing that kept us awake.

The only real downside to our room was that the A/C unit was especially loud. We adjusted and it wasn't a big deal but even having a conversation when it turned on was interesting.

Otherwise it was a perfect stay.

Our stay at Hotel Provencial was perfect in every way! The staff is absolutely amazing! Our room was spotless, the bedding and towels are super comfortable, the location is perfectly situated close enough to everything, but in a quiet enough area at night to be able to sleep. Housekeeping and grounds maintenance kept the place beautiful even after our large group gathering. A very nice meeting room was provided for our group to prepare for a surprise second line parade. Most importantly, the staff are so professional, accomodating and friendly! Highly recommend!

Well maintained, clean, friendly staff. Just DON'T get a room street side. We were awakened every morning no later than 5am by either garbage truck, cars playing loud music, people yelling, and the ghost tour stops right under our window 3 or 4 times each night. Also, I know it's covid so precautions are taken but we were out of our room 90% of each day. Someone could've came in 3 minutes at least every other day to drop clean towels & take trash but we used the same stuff for 4 days. Yes, I could ask for clean items but I'm not an employee & not getting a discount to serve myself. Told front desk clerk about noise, while friendly, his response was "I've had a lot more noise complaints from street side than usual, I need to mention it to my manager". That's it. So I'd give 5 stars because everyone was nice, hotel was immaculate but the noise was that bad, the lack of concern and zero room cleaning brought my opinion down. Get non street side and you should be good to go with a great review.

We stayed here in August 2021, just before Hurricane Ida rolled through. We found New Orleans as a whole to be a bit deserted and quiet due to the pandemic. It was easy to find this hotel located on beautiful Chartres Street, and when we arrived in the lobby it seemed as though the staff were expecting us. Our room was ready for us well before check in time and check in was a breeze. This early check in gave us almost an extra 1/2 day in NOLA. We stayed on the second floor in a King room with a courtyard view and I would say the condition of the room itself is a bit below average - a bit dated and in need of some love. However, apart from sleeping, we were only in the room about an hour per day so the condition of the room was not an in issue. The bed was comfortable and clean - clean is the important factor for us. The air conditioner in the room worked very well and we had no issues with temperature. We loved the pool and had it to ourselves most of the time. On our night in NOLA we rented a car to drive out to the plantations and then to the airport. Our rental car was kept safe, was always available to us quickly and was always promptly parked. The parking fee was $37 per day, and I found this to be very reasonable. If we return to New Orleans and stay in the French Quarter it is highly likely we will choose this hotel again.

We stayed at the Hotel Provincial for 5 nights. It is a great location in the French Quarter with everything you would want to see and do well within walking distance. If you struggle with mobility then take into account there are no lifts here so all upper rooms are accessed by stairs only.
it has a restaurant on site (French Toast), and the Ice House Bar, Bourbon Street and Frenchmen Street are both approx 10 mins walk. Check in and out was pretty seamless and housekeeping excellent,

This was our first time in New Orleans and this hotel came recommended by some one who frequently travels to the city. We were expecting old and historic but I was suprised by how old and tired the hotel really was. The front desk staff was nice and check in and check out went smoothly. I didn't realize the hotel encompasses several buildings and we were in building 5, the same one with the restaurant French Toast. We had a room with a king bed and the first thing my husband said is he thinks this is the smallest hotel room he's ever been in. The bathroom was clean but the rest of the room had an overall dinginess to it. Inches of dust on the drapes, ripped sheers, the drapes had a huge brown stain at the bottom. The carpet turned my feet and socks dirty. They have reduced their housekeeping staff and only after 3 nights stay will housekeeping come in to clean. On our 4th day there I called the front desk in the morning requesting clean sheets and towels and was told we were on the list for housekeeping since we had been there 3 nights. After being gone for more than 12 hours we returned to our room only to find housekeeping had not been there. I did call the front desk and the front desk attendant did bring us more towels. We also had an issue with the tv not coming in. I called the front desk about this also and a gentleman came and swapped out the cable box but it did not improve the situation.

I would have to say the best thing about this hotel was the location. It was conveniently located toward the French Market, Frenchmen Street and Bourbon Street. Even the WWII musuem was within walking distance, a little more than a mile. We did discover a little pastry shop Croissant D'or Patisserie around the corner on Ursuline which is worth visiting. As far as any amenities, I felt like the hotel was lacking.

If you look through the photos on trip advisors there are a couple pools and courtyards and it looks like continental breakfast is served in the Ice Bar. We were not told about any courtyards that we could use and the only pool we saw was the one behind the hotel lobby. Also, we were in the lobby twice in the morning and the Ice Bar was closed, so cleary continental breakfast must've only been a pre-Covid amenity.

While we are thrilled to hear of your love for location, we are certainly disappointed to hear of your housekeeping concerns. We will be addressing these with the department leader to ensure this was an isolated incident. We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback and hope you will give us another chance in the future. Unfortunately, we do not have continental breakfast at the hotel, it may be an old picture that a previous guest posted. Sincerely, Staci

We chose this hotel based on the previous reviews and great rates for the location. The location was great. We stayed in Bldg 5 and was next to Decatur Street and the French Market. You could here the great music being played just outside the window. Originally we were in a room in the courtyard, but it wasn't a balcony. It was a nice room, but my daughter and her friends wished to stay in Bldg 5. Take a look at the history and the haunted history of this hotel for more on that. The clerk was more than helpful allowing us to move to Bldg 5 and with no issues. Valet parking is on site. Which was helpful and reasonably priced. This hotel was walking distance to everything in the French Quarter. If you like haunts and ghost, you may just get it here. Me and my daughter did encounter one of these experiences while staying in the hotel one night. It was visual and the ghost/ spirit whatever you want to call it appeared friendly and was just checking on us after a fire alarm had gone off. Which me and my daughter were the only ones that heard it, and there was no other report of it throughout the hotel. Pretty cool.
The overall decor of the hotel was nostalgic and very warming. There is an on site bar which is convenient. But not open long hours.
Overall a great experience and my wife loved the hotel. Will stay here again in the future.
Only complaint, stayed there five days and 4 nights and the housekeepers never cleaned the room, even when changing the marker to needing room cleaned. Will contact the front desk next time we stay if it happens again.
Great memories overall.

The Hotel Provincial is a beautiful property conveniently located in the French Quarter. The location is east of Jackson Square, and is a short walk to the French Market and Frenchman street. The room we stayed in had floor to ceiling windows, a small balcony and a brick wall, all things that remind you this is an historic building in an historic town. The property was extremely clean and well maintained with several beautiful courtyards to sit in and a nice size pool. There is a small bar right off the lobby, which can be a great place to enjoy a beverage after afternoon of shopping or before heading out for the evening. On property parking is another great plus, but keep in mind, you will pay extra for it. I would highly recommend the Hotel Provincial with one caveat, the price is on the higher end of properties in the area. Lastly, if you chose to stay here, request a room near the back of the property as the noise of late night revelers may affect your stay.

We loved everything about our recent stay at the Hotel Provincial in the French Quarter of New Orleans. It is a beautiful, locally owned and operated hotel, that is unique, steeped with character, and certainly not your normal cookie-cutter hotel. The rooms, though small (reminded me of similar Paris hotel rooms), are furnished with period antiques. There are two onsite pools and a beautifully landscaped courtyard. Nestled in Chartres Street, everything in the French Quarter is within easy walking distance. Onsite parking is expensive, at $32 per day, but well worth it, as we were assured that our car was protected during our stay. The staff were always engaging and helpful. We loved Hotel Provincial and will definitely stay here again in subsequent visits to New Orleans!
