The Melrose is an all-suite luxury, boutique courtyard mansion with large French windows, roomy balcony with finger lace ironwork and pillared verandas. A grand staircase takes guests to their rooms, each decorated with one-of-a-kind antique furnishings, artwork and fine architectural details. The popular Donecio Suite has been called "the most romantic bedroom in New Orleans" and is a favorite with honeymooners. Just steps away from Bourbon Street, the Melrose Mansion sits on the edge of the French Quarter on historic Esplanade Avenue and features the one of the largest swimming pools in the French Quarter.

We enjoyed the Melrose Mansion. We were in an apartment 2 buildings away but it was perfect. We loved the location being near French Quarter & Marigny. We walked everywhere! Staff was great and the place was clean!

This was my second visit to Melrose Mansion. They nicely put me in the same lovely and spacious room on the first floor of the main house. We arrived in early evening and were immediately offered a glass of wine while we attended to check-in details -- Welcome to New Orleans! This room features a huge marble-finished shower with a rainwater shower. What a treat! As others have noted, this great old house is located just across Esplanade from the French Quarter, and is about a 15 minute walk from Jackson Square, and a very pleasant walk it is. It's even closer to the local nightlife on Frenchman Street, highly recommended. The staff was helpful in orienting us to the neighborhood and getting our taxi to the airport when we left. All around, a first-rate lodging destination.

The room was absolutely gorgeous and location perfect. We arrived the last afternoon of Mardis Gras and we're delighted to be within walking distance of the action on Bourbon Street yet on a quiet side street overlooked by most of the party goers. Great staff and top notch continental breakfast. Would definitely recommend for this hotel for a romantic getaway!

Melrose Mansion is by far the best place I've stayed at in New Orleans. The staff are phenomenal, the property is clean, inviting, historic and the location is top notch. The breakfast and wine / cheese hour are so wonderful. Love Melrose Mansion! I will be back many more time in the future.

This property is conveniently located across the street from family so it perfect for us. We always try to get the Domenico suite with it's lovely balcony. It's great to have a comfortable place to stay so close to family and the French Quarter. Being able to run downstairs and grab a coffee and breakfast in the morning is alway nice. You won't be sorry you stayed here!
