What was great about this hotel was how quiet it is. At least my room 315 was very quiet. I gave the hotel 4 rather than 5 stars because they no longer serve breakfast. Other things. If u want ice. Floor two was only working machine. The pool area is very nice. I do wonder why the pool itself was cloudy. Enjoyed the music in the hotel. Staff very friendly and helpful. Parking about $45 per day. Would stay here again
This hotel, though in a nice location in a quiet part of the French Quarter, is too old, rundown and seedy. My husband and I stayed here for French Quarter Fest and were quite disappointed. Only one elevator worked the entire weekend. When we alerted the front desk that one of the 2 elevators wasn't working, they insisted it was. Later that day, a hand-lettered sign saying "Out of Order" was taped to the elevator door. When we complained of the poor to non-existent wifi in our room, we were informed that the wife was good but just in frequent use. It was virtually non-existent all weekend. The room was unattractive. There was a large wet spot on the carpeting -- not damp -- but squishy wet. I assume we were breathing mold and mildew while there. We left with irritated throats and stuffy heads. The ceiling in the bathroom was started to cave in one corner, and it, too, was blackened by mold. This hotel needs serious repair, improvement, polish and cleaning. It is simply seedy and rundown. It was depressing staying there and worth the good location.…
We were there 04/21 - 04/25. When we checked in we were to have a Deluxe King Room which we did not get. We are not people to complain so we said, so be it. We looked into the bathroom and saw that the toilet was very stained and looked awful, additionally the safe did not work. I called down to Guest Services and reported the problem and they said they were sending maintenance up. This was approx. 12:30 pm. At 3:30 maintenance had not yet showed up. I called back to Guest Services and told them that they either send someone up immediately or give us a new room that was actually the room we ordered. The Operations Manager, Amy, did give us a new room in which the safe worked. We were then moved to room 443 and the safe did work in this room. However, the carpet was badly stained and looked as if it had not been cleaned in years or even vacuumed recently. Additionally the drapery was off the hooks in two places and the toilet seat paint was peeling, the shower head did not work properly the picture on the wall was badly tilted. Also, in a two elevator lobby one elevator went out on Saturday and was not repaired until Monday. For this room we paid $350.00 per night. That is awful!! We will never stay here again. It looked to me as if they are planning to shut the place down sometime soon. Look for a better place to stay that is worth $350.00/nite.…
What a pitiful expensive experience! Room was not cleaned prior to check in. Dirty bathroom floor. Un-vacuumed carpet. Waste basket full of trash. Empty beer bottle behind tv screen. No coffee for in room coffee service. Dismal dingy room with stained carpet throughout. Very noisy with loud band in bar area until 1-2 AM. Broken furniture (see uploaded photos). Not the best location in French Quarter. Unfortunately, due jazz festival in the Quarter no other hotel options were available. Just a dreadful experience.
We had an amazing time staying here! The staff was wonderful and friendly! Rooms are dated but I wouldn’t trade that for the location alone! Far enough from the loudness of Bourbon street and night life but within walking distance to it ALL. Room was clean and just as we expected! I will be staying here again.
The staff is so awesome here. It is like you are part of the family. They have great recommendations. The rooms were very large and the beds were comfy. The bathroom is small but has everything needed. The hotel is a bit worn but I like that. It seems lived in. Great music every night downstairs. Location was great. Not too close to crazy Bourbon Street bu very walkable.
Maison Dupuy, is the the most overpriced, unfriendly staff and grimy hotel I ever stayed in, only thing is nice location, it’s grimy from patched dirty carpet to mold in the bathroom, staff was very defensive, the nicest people were folks taking your luggage and room attendants, no restaurant available and front desk never answers the phone, I would not recommend.
So, the location is fantastic and the rooms are ok. They’re clean, but the bathrooms is tiny and the bed was horrible! The king bed felt as though you were sleeping in a bowl. I seriously think it’s time for the Hotel to invest in some new mattresses. Courtyard is lovely and people were kind.
First, we had booked in advance and simply asked for a room with a frig. The staff sent my partner up to a room about 4 separate times because multiple rooms had key issues and another did not have a refrigerator. We noticed that something was sticky on the floor after we got in and asked housekeeping to clean it the next day but they never bothered to address it. Pretty sure prior guest spilled their drink because red was all over the bed skirt too. We ended up just putting a towel over the sticky floor. My last complaint is that while the room was big enough for a small desk or table, there was none. It is challenging to work on or eat without one. My partner pulled the small outdoor table indoors to problem solve using what was there. Lastly, pretty early in the morning on our check out day, the housekeeping staff was knocking on our door and those of other guests to see if we had left so they could clean the room. t I would not recommend this place. …
Nice hotel. Friendly service. Bellmen were very informative. Walking distance to everything! In the French Quarter. Clean. Not noisy at all. They did not have anything going on in their lounge until we were about to leave. Idk why but their shower gel was great! I will stay there again!
