We recently spent five nights at Le Pavillon rather than stay at the conference site chain hotel a few blocks away. We were tucked away in a smaller room, but at the US Govt rate it seemed fair enough. I wonder how long the WET PAINT sign had been taped to our door as no housekeeping or management bothered to...

Arrived on a Sunday afternoon about 3 pm directly from the airport. Our room was not ready and we were told it would be in about 15 minutes. After taking our name and looking it up in the computer we took a seat in the lobby to wait out the 15 minutes. No information on the hotel was given to us....

The staffing at this historical hotel is top notch! The building is beautiful from top to bottom. Be sure to check out the peanut butter and jelly sandwiches they sit out for guests every night before 11p.m. However, the elevator was slow and rickety and the beds are NOT full size AT ALL. They were more twin sized. Don't think...

Completely enjoyed my stay at Le Pavillion! Close enough to enjoy all New Orleans has to offer but far enough away to give plenty of privacy. Enjoyed the refreshing flavored water everyday after a brisk morning of shopping. The opulence of the LePavillon is incredible. The rooftop swimming pool and spa was unbelievable enabling one to see the Super Dome...

I had an item stolen from my room while staying here, this in itself is worrying but the response since from the hotel has been completely inadequate. I reported it while I was still there and have had to call several times since, being passed around different people, none of whom made any attempt to apologize or address the seriousness...

The hotel is an old classic recently renovated. Rooms are somewhat small. Lounge only open in the evenings. Service is very slow, though the staff is friendly. Only 2 elevators which take forever to reach your floor and are slow.

New Orleans is a spooky, mysterious, classy, crazy and wonderful town. There are many truly haunted places and her hotels are no exception. While we chose Le Pavillon for location and history more than the haunted reputation, we felt it would have been fun to glimpse. Ghost. Alas we did not. We did experience wonderful desk, concierge, valet and bell...

I gave it a 3, but I do think that once the renovations are done that this hotel could be a 4 as you will read below. 1st impression was a big fail. Arrived at 1pm and were told to come back at 3pm for our room. Came back at 2:45 and were told our room would not be ready...

We were really looking forward to staying at La Pavillon. We wanted stay somewhere we could only stay in NOLA. We were looking for a 4 star hotel. Someplace with history and this seemed to fit the bill. We purchased a vacation package through an airline with this hotel. As our date got closer I was noticing all the negative...

This was obviously once a really wonderful hotel but it has seen better days. We stayed from 27 March for 5 nights. Walking distance to the French Quarter, Art District, Waterfront etc., so good position. Renovation work in progress - it took an age for the only available lift to arrive (the other was being constantly used by workmen). Hotel...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
