I really enjoyed my three night stay. The bar, Loa, was a bonus! The hotel is located just off Canal and that made it easily accessible to a lot of great locations, restaurants, bars and shopping. The hotel is a good value for the price. It served its purpose: comfortable bed, clean bathroom, friendly staff. Only negative is no coffee pot...lol, but there was a coffee shop that opened up about three weeks ago, Nostalgia, about 20 feet from the hotel. I went solo and felt very comfortable and safe.
A lovely older building with a cozy cocktail lounge. Staff is incredibly helpful and friendly. When I booked I assumed I would need to Uber everywhere but was pleasantly surprised with the central location.
The International House Hotel offers an authentic NOLA experience. The hotel team takes great pride in connecting their guests to all that NOLA has to offer from their insiders view. The location was ideal. Located only a half block from Canal Street and a quick two minute walk into the liveliness of the French Quarter provides easy access, while providing a great respite from the craziness of the French Quarter and Bourbon Street. LOA, just off the lobby is a great place to get craft cocktails. While I was on a business trip this time. I look forward to returning to the International House Hotel with my wife for a getaway to enjoy the great food, culture and music that NOLA provides.
I loved the friendly, helpful staff and found the free bike rental to be a huge plus! Being able to bike the city allowed us to see and do so much more. I loved the vibe of the lobby and bar had excellent drinks! The free drink chip on arrive was a very nice touch. Next time I go back to New Orleans I'm definitely staying at IHH again!
we arrived at 4:30am after traveling delays got us in 15 hours late. Andrew checked us in within minutes, helped us with the bags and made the check in seamless. Lonny is epic and decorated with awesome art work and musical instruments. All I wanted by the time we got upstairs, was a shower and a bed! The shower was huge, hot and they have Bigelow products for me to use! beside my bed was a free bottle of water-which I put right in my mini fridge and the bed! OH THE BED! linens were clean, fresh and soft. 4 pillow options to choose from -soft to firm! and I slept like a baby. GREAT BEDS! next morning i had coffee in the lobby/bar area and enjoyed it while I sat by the window in the chill area. I was able to log in and work via the WIFI no issues. They have a happy hour I enjoyed that evening and the BAR... the BAR? I will come back to bar even if I don't stay here.. The ENTIRE staff was polite, kind and made sure we needed NOTHING! Stay here!!…
The hotel was cute, clean, and in a great location. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Can't comment on parking because we came on the amtrak and walked everywhere but it was a great location just barley outside of the French Quarters, so no craziness but extremely easy to walk everywhere.
A disappointing and mediocre experience. In fairness, the hotel had positives: located near the French quarter, but not inside it; trendy artwork on the walls; and a nice bar seating area. Unfortunately, we found its management to be sub-standard, and its amenities below the level we would expect from a boutique hotel in this price class. Examples would be finding the desk attendant asleep, but also, more annoyingly, things like a lack of ice machines in the hotel and the absence of a coffee maker in the room. Coffee is available in the bar in the morning, but you have to trundle down to get it—and if the coffee carafe is empty, well you have to go find someone to fill it and then wait almost half an hour for it to come. There’s no room service available because the restaurant is “under renovation”. When we checked in, the music in the lobby was so loud we could barely hear the front desk clerk talk. Overall, the attitude of the hotel seemed to be that they could neglect the needs and normal expectations of their guests. Boutique hotels at this price point should be about comfort, convenience, and guest service. This hotel is not about any of that, at all. Too bad, we expected better.…
Absolutely not what I would expect from a “boutique hotel.” Hairdryer didn’t work, no in room safe, “mini fridge” was actually a “cooler” that we had to keep buckets of ice in to keep cool. Housekeeping never came, there was trash in the room from previous guests, no onsite restaurant for room service. Only good things about this place was bed quality and location. Would not stay here again.
Would happily stay here again. The rooms were clean, staff was friendly and attentive to any issue or questions we had. Short walk to anything you might want/need, and about a 10 minute walk to the French quarter.
The best part of my stay was the friendliness of the staff. They were available to answer questions about the area, knowledgeable about amenities, gave good advice, and always service with a smile. Great location. Room was spotless. No complaints.
