Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.

Attending a convention at Morial Center.. last minute in and out in 3 days... we have a tendency to choose outside of the trade show approved hotels. My wife and I chose this one for short walking distances to everything...(5minutes to 30minutes =short) Carrying the luggage from the bus stop was 15minutes. Cab rides 32.00/pp. bus lines= 2.00/pp We arrived very early.. and hotel check in was at 4pm.. We checked our luggage at the hotel and gave them our cell phone number for room readiness txt. The room was appointed with attention and detail to bring a calm and relaxing stay.. as I later actually felt the calming relaxing influences... who’d of thought ! The hotel had different types of events happening in the lobby each night that added a little something to the experience as we were exiting and entering. As travelers we mostly have kids with us and the criteria for hotels is significantly modified. This trip we were traveling as a couple... and chose accordingly and Wisely! Would stay again. Thanks to the helpful and friendly staff who added to the experience of our stay.

Beautiful boutique hotel, perfect location, warm staff.....Clarence took such great care of us. Can’t wait to go back! Perfect stop on our girls trip. Very trendy bar in the hotel. The only thing that I could complain about is the 48.00 Valet.

Friends were staying at the Sheraton on Canal which is literally kitty corner from International House but they were paying almost twice the price we paid. Room was clean, modern and quiet. Beautiful bathroom. We got a great deal using trivago.com. Room wasn't huge but who needs a lot of space when we are out most of the day. They could use one more dresser or table for more flat space to put things on but otherwise the room had all we needed. Nice closet with cabinet and drawers. Great location to French quarter or river. Only a very short walk off Canal street. Will stay here again.

Checked into room 1001 today. Knat’s in the bathroom on arrival. I was sitting on the bed for 3 min when out crawls a bug. Got up to check to see if there were more and found the nastiest mattress that I have ever seen! Totally gross! Headed to the desk now! 🤢
