My wife and I were in New Orleans for the Dolly Parton concert at the Smoothie King Center. We decided to spend the night in the city since it was our anniversary and the concert would be late. We loved the hotel, as it was very convenient to everything! It was only about 15 minute walk to SKC and very...

Our stay here was very nice. The room was clean and the bed was super comfy! In fact its so comfy Im going to call them and ask them what kind it is! We were on the 9th floor and you could still hear plenty of street noise, so its no the quietest of hotels. The staff is very friendly...

Located a block off Canal street away from the French quarter. Easy walk to most parts of the city. Nice lobby area with interesting decor. My check in was quick. The hotel has only 2 elevators and was was broken. This was fortunately fixed by the next afternoon. The room itself had enough space, but was not large and spacious....

I was fortunate to have the opportunity to say at this lovely hotel while in the city on business. It is a very special place. You realize this the very moment you enter and see the stunning lobby that includes an outstanding art exhibit. Other nice touches: - fabulous bar with a very serious mixologist - friendly and helpful staff...

This hotel was really strange for me... Despite all good reviews I have read here in Trip Advisor, my experience there was not good. My room was really, really small... There was almost no space for 2 bags (I was with my husband) and air conditioner had a lot of dust... The room did not even had a table nor...

Our family and friends stayed at the International House for our wedding weekend. Everyone at the hotel from the event staff that helped with pre-planning to the doormen, front desk team and Loa bar team were fabulous. The doorman greeted us with the statement "I am here to make your stay incredible" and he delivered. Everyone was attentive, gracious and...

I'm furious at the way I was treated by this supposedly "high-end hotel." Due to a problem with my reservation caused by their difficult to use online booking system I was charged twice for the same night. Their management decided the best way to resolve the issue was to blame the customer. Great businesses do right by their customers and...

I so enjoyed my stay. I booked on Hotwire, meaning I didn't know this would be the hotel I got based on my price and location choices. This was my first visit to New Orleans, with my best friend for Halloween. We both loved the decor and found the room lovely - simple and elegant. The staff were so nice,...

First off this is not a cheap hotel. Here on vacation we paid over $400 a night. But since we had stayed here four years ago for Mardi Gras and enjoyed it we were looking forward to coming back. The good is the staff that works the lobby and the bar. The bad was the room. Staying a week there...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
