I booked this hotel because of the price and that it was pet friendly with only a $25 per stay pet fee. The rooms was much nicer and larger than I expected. Despite being on the 2nd floor facing the street it was very sound proof. The windows have 3 panes of glass along with black out drapery. The furnishings, linens and decor are very new, high quality and comfortable. All of the staff we encountered are very friendly and knowledgeable of the area.

Upon arrival I didnt notice any signage on the hotel itself but on the street in the loading zone there are signs designating the area is for La Galerie hotel. The entrance doors do have the street number.

If arriving by car park in the loading zone in front of the hotel. Check in and unload your car. They will give you directions to the parking area they contract with in the Canal Place Shopping center just over a block away. When you register you will need your car license plate number. The entrance to parking is just over two blacks away on the riverside of the Canal Place shopping center. Try to park your car near the elevator. When you go down the elevator you will end up in the Canal place shopping center. Just exit the center and the hotel is just over a black away. You dont need any parking ticket since your car license plate number is registered by the hotel.

I will not hesitate to stay at this hotel again the next time I am in New Orleans.

Easy check in. Was able to park right in front of the hotel to unload bags. Baggage carts were available for our use. Self parking was a few blocks away at the garage located at the Shops on Canal. Liked that the parking fee was included in the room rate. Didn't mind self parking. Hotel has character and is connected to an art gallery. Room with two beds was comfortable for our party of 3. Room and hotel had character. Bathroom was a good size but the inside of the bathroom door was badly scratched (paint was off--guessing due to a dog being closed up inside the bathroom) and the bathroom needed a good, thorough cleaning. The shelves and window sill were very dirty. The water pressure in the shower was pretty low, but the bigger concern was the water pressure in the toilet. Small amounts of toilet paper were hard to flush. Beds were comfortable. A/C worked well. Room had a microwave and refrigerator. Staff was friendly and helpful upon check-in/out. Cleaning staff was also friendly and helpful. Good location for a stay in the French Quarter. Would stay here again if price was under $115/night for a double.

Great location: 10/10
Located in the French quarter, on Decateur street which makes it close enough to all that the French Quarter has to offer, without the noise and crowds. Plenty of great restaurants and attractions close by: including Bourbon street, the French Market, Canal Street and the famous Cafe du Monde. Speaking of restaurants, try the Coterie next door, and remember to book in advance. For a foodie destination, you may be hard pressed to walk in and dine in most fine restaurants in New Orleans, so I recommend checking online and booking all your dinners in advance.
There’s a CVS and Walgreens nearby as well as a local grocery, Rouses Market.
Shelley made our stay exceptionally great. She’s attentive, friendly and helpful, giving us great recommendations on what’s hot around the area. She also arranged our taxi to the airport. We appreciate you Shelley.
My only comment on improvement would be on cleanliness. Standards could be better: we noticed stains on the bathroom walls and a dirty bedside drawer. Our room didn’t go free much of a view, so be aware of this when booking.

Like most good places in NOLA, this places charm was only intensified by the lovely and welcoming people who worked there.
First, the hotel is a charming boutique style establishment. You can certainly tell that the building itself is quite old, but they seem to have kept up with updates the décor. the lobby is quaint and welcoming, and the staff is incredibly helpful. I do not recall the gentleman's name I saw at the desk most often, but he help us with everything from check in, to recommending a good restaurant. We stayed in the Junior Suite. A very spacious room with high ceilings, a comfy bed and a very nice walk in shower. This is where the hotel begins to show its age as the room was quite drafty. But no matter, the room's thermostat worked perfectly and kept the room at the perfect temperature.
Location, Location, LOCATION!!! For the price we paid, this may be one of the best deals ever. French Market and Jackson Square can be walked to in about 12 minutes, Bourbon Street in about the same and Canal in about 5. Easy access to everything on foot.
FYI: There seems to be some disconnect between reserving online and checking in. The had my reservation just fine, but I had added a late check out time of 2pm for a $10 fee which they did not seem to be able o see. Nevertheless, the courteous staff was more than happy to accommodate us.
Nothing really negative to say here. Great staff, amazing location, quiet and romantic for our little getaway. We will definitely be back!!!

The carpets in the hallways were very stained in multiple places. The handle on the shower was not attached and when the water is turned to full blast, it is dangerously hot. Combined this is a recipe for an accident, and despite telling the front desk, it was not fixed during my stay. The toilet also didn’t seem to be working correctly and barely flushed, yet always filled and emptied twice before stopping (three times total each time the handle was pressed). There was hair in both the sink and the shower on check in. The safe in my room was not working- not just locked but unresponsive to pressing buttons. Both issues were mentioned and not addressed. It was hot during the day and cold at night regardless of what I set the heat/air to. The lamp bases, toilet paper stand, and some handles were rusting. Underneath the sink and bed were filthy. We were told that the rooms would only be cleaned upon request upon checkin (which was preferable) but twice I came back to find items I laid out on the bed moved so the bed could be made (hands down not the worst surprise, but I would have rather not had anyone in the room and would have put the do not disturb sign up if I had know ). Thursday I returned late to find the gate locked and no one at the desk, and had to wake my friend in another room to come let me in.
The noise from the elevator made it difficult to sleep.

The staff during the day was very welcoming and friendly, but late night seemed more annoyed they had to let us in than welcoming us back to our rooms.

That being said, there are some serious renovations and repairs that need to be made to keep the hotel safe and comfortable.

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback. I apologize that your stay did not meet our standards. Our staff should have been more responsive to your needs and concerns. I will be providing additional training to remedy this. Our carpeting is a known issue, and we are currently working on fixing this. Clean, comfortable, great location
Parking isn’t a huge problem as it’s only a short block and a half walk from the parking garage to the hotel
My only complaint is that generally parking is expensive.
But if you’re gonna travel with a car. C’est la vie

However, being located in the French Quarter and on the edge of the Central Business district our parking is both convenient and competitively priced. Great location in the French Quarter. Staff were friendly. But, had several incidents during our stay. First night, as we were preparing to retire, we pulled back the comforter to dirty sheets. Called for clean ones, very nice front desk clerk got us a set immediately, but we had to make our own bed which was not easy. There was some sort of slug or something? above one of the windows in the room which we asked about but never got an explanation for nor was it removed. I took a picture of it. Every night between 7-9 there was a strange sound in the walls that was kind of disturbing. Not exactly like a cricket, but similar. When we knocked on the walls, it would stop briefly, but it would start right back up. Clearly, there's some sort of bug in the wall...
The rooms are small, but let's be honest, you're not going to New Orleans for an all-inclusive resort experience. It's just the right size for crashing out. I just wish the standards of the Hotel were higher for the rates they charge. It's like a Hotel Six all dressed up, but it's still like a Hotel Six at much higher rates.
I can say Thank You for making me look forward to being home! I'm so appreciative of the little things.

This was a nice hotel. A good hotel for families. It’s located in the French quarter but it is nice and quiet for the most part. Our first night we were in a room right next to the elevator. You could here it very loudly whenever the elevator was in use and that was often. We asked to be moved to a different room the next morning and we were very well accommodated. We were moved to a bigger room which was much more quiet. The staff is very nice and kind, even the housekeepers. An iPad was left behind when we switched rooms and the housekeepers found it, brought it downstairs and I was called immediately and told it was waiting at the front desk. I really appreciated that!
One thing is that the parking is off site but it isn’t a far walk. It is about a three minute walk if that, but you can park your vehicle out front to unload your luggage and check in and then move it. There is free water offered in the lobby as well a coffee.
The rooms where nice. They were on the small side as well as the bathroom. The beds were comfy.
Overall it was a pretty decent stay and I would stay again if in New Orleans.

We picked this hotel based on the reviews, location, and price. The rooms are nicely renovated. The bathroom was beautiful. My germaphobe teen loved that there was no carpet! People were friendly. The beds were comfortable. The best thing about this hotel in my opinion was the location. It was close to everything but far enough away from the crazy so it didn’t keep us up at night. Parking was down a block for $20/night but we didn’t really need our vehicle since we walked everywhere. One block the other way, was Canal street and the section that the parades pass by. Cons were: terrible water pressure in the bathroom, our room seemed a little cramped and the floor was not level. There is one small elevator that was warm and only two luggage carts. It doesn’t have all of the frills of a big hotel chain, but we would stay here again.

There is discounted parking at nearby garage - you go to hotel first - pay there and then go to garage. I believe it was between $20 & &30 for the night - but I didn’t drive my friend did - so not sure. I think it was a good deal.
