We loved this hotel! Excellent central location, walking distance to the whole French Quarter, only blocks away from public transportation (which is so cheap) . We arrived way earlier than our check in time to stow our bags and they were able to accommodate us and we even got to check in early! The staff was so friendly and helpful. The ac was crazy good, crucial in Louisiana summer! The water was always hot no matter what time of day. There was never a time where people were loud or rowdy or we just couldn’t hear them? Either way. Ten out of ten. Will be staying here on my next visit.
The La Galerie hotel is a very nice boutique hotel. The hotel is located close enough to Bourbon St. for an easy walk, but far enough away to miss out on the craziness. The hotel is also situated within close walking distance to very good restaurants.
Hotel is not clean. Got a terrible sinus infection from the moldy air conditioner. Windows don’t open so no way to combat the mold. So sick from it! Also billed twice for my stay on 2 different credit cards. First day suffered s sprained ankle ( not the hotel’s fault) but the elevator broke down and I was on the top floor. Difficult times in sn otherwise wonderful city.
Awesome place!! Everything from checking in early to the vibe of the whole place it was all so good! The lady checking us in took her time to walk outside with me and show me exactly where the parking garage was. We will be booking this place for any future Nola trips!!
Lots of New Orleans character in a perfect location. Everyone was kind and courteous! Has a small issue with my room, so I replied to a text asking how my visit was going and before I knew it it was resolved with no time lost on my vacation. Simply amazing. Highly recommend. I will go back!
What a great location! Very clean, awesome staff, rooms and staff were full of charm. Our only complaint was that the rooms were smaller than we would have liked, but everything else was super and a great value—close to all the sites without the noise! Wonderful restaurants nearby as well.
I was beyond happy with this hotel (you never know what you’re going to get sometimes). It was in an excellent but quiet location in the French quarter. We walked to most places we wanted to see. The room was clean and well appointed. I loved the wood floors. I especially loved the sound machine. Brilliant! The staff are all pleasant and accommodating (we were able to leave our luggage after check out, due to a late flight, so we could still sight see). I would not hesitate to stay here again.
The location is great and we were able to walk most of the time. The hotel staff was very helpful and friendly. The beds were very comfortable and very quiet. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars was the water pressure was bad, the toilet did not have enough pressure to flush, and there was a bad smell when we first walked into the room from the hall. However, we know that the buildings in NOLA are very old so not everything would be perfect. The restaurant next door was great!
Great location: 10/10 Located in the French quarter, on Decateur street which makes it close enough to all that the French Quarter has to offer, without the noise and crowds. Plenty of great restaurants and attractions close by: including Bourbon street, the French Market, Canal Street and the famous Cafe du Monde. Speaking of restaurants, try the Coterie next door, and remember to book in advance. For a foodie destination, you may be hard pressed to walk in and dine in most fine restaurants in New Orleans, so I recommend checking online and booking all your dinners in advance. There’s a CVS and Walgreens nearby as well as a local grocery, Rouses Market. Shelley made our stay exceptionally great. She’s attentive, friendly and helpful, giving us great recommendations on what’s hot around the area. She also arranged our taxi to the airport. We appreciate you Shelley. My only comment on improvement would be on cleanliness. Standards could be better: we noticed stains on the bathroom walls and a dirty bedside drawer. Our room didn’t go free much of a view, so be aware of this when booking.…
I really enjoyed staying here, primarily because the room was very large and comfortable. The daybed was where I spent most of my time when I was in the room, but I also enjoyed how large and comfortable the bed was. It was overcast when I was in town, and the windows weren’t very large so the room did feel quite dark, even with lights on. The location was right in the heart of the French quarter, and it was a lovely spot. The staff was very friendly. My only complaints are that the shower was weak, and since the floors are made of wood, anytime the people upstairs walked it was definitely noisy.
