We have been to New Orleans dozens of times but not since before Covid. Our regular hotel has apparently gone downhill so we were in search of a new one. The Bourbon Orleans is a really beautiful hotel in a great location. It’s extremely convenient to everything in the French Quarter and easy to find. We stayed in a balcony loft room which was very nice and comfortable. The bed was great and the shower was also excellent. Sometimes in an old building, I’ve found that the shower leaves much to be desired but that was not the case here. Our balcony overlooked St. Ann but was right on the corner of Bourbon. More on that later. The pool area was beautiful and the pool was lovely and clean. As for the negatives, the largest issue stems from the lack of housekeeping services and services in general. I completely understand and appreciate Covid protocols that are in place, but you can’t use that as an excuse for no amenities when no one in the hotel is wearing a mask. There is no housekeeping service and if you ask, you may or may not get any. It’s a luxury to stay in a hotel of this caliber and things like a made bed and fresh towels contribute to the quality of the trip. There were beads and garbage still left on our balcony from someone who has previously stayed. Some of the staff seemed to have a completely disinterested attitude that was more like “what do you want from me?” as opposed to “how can we make your stay excellent?” If you cannot provide appropriate service to your guests, perhaps you should not book so many rooms. The bar is open only at night and the restaurant is open on a limited basis. Our room was beautiful but, due to its location, very very loud. We dealt with it but this is something that should have been expressed to us at check in. Perhaps we could have been advised that it would sound like Bourbon Street was inside of our room until about 3am and given the option of the loft balcony in another location. While the room, pool, and location were excellent, the lack of service made the hotel feel cheaper than it should.…
Visited the Bar a 2 nights in a row which had really good music and drinks. In addition, the bar staff, Andrew, Aimee and Seth were very welcoming which added to the ambience! When I came back the second night, they recognized me and remembered my order which made the experience all the better
Just left last week and this was our third time there and it was just as wonderful as the first time. The rooms have been renovated and look great. Staff nice and helpful and an extremely nice night shift manager that helped my husband at check out. Will see you again next year Bourbon Orleans!
Wonderfully convenient. Only a long block from Jackson square. Within walking distance if nearly everything. Pretty and clean pool in courtyard and some shade too. Basic room is small, some with no view except brick wall so ask if that’s important to you. No business center or way to print boarding passes. Average breakfast fare but right in lobby. Nice decor. Bar on site in evening seemed lively. All in all a very good place to stay
The hotel is basically a motel at 5 star prices and a fancy name. Three nights spent here. Room never serviced. No fresh towels. No beds made. No room service. Breakfast not included and looked average. People wondering around with out shirts in foyer. Honestly, the hotel is tired and neglected. Staff go through the motions in a non interested fashion.
The hotel was beautiful, the customer service was great from the bellman to the front desk staff. We had an amazing experience with Monique Green, who went above and beyond for our family, making us feel welcomed to the city. The bar and the live music was great. The rooms were clean, but were noisy because we faced Bourbon Street.
We stayed 6 nights at the Bourbon Orleans. We couldn't have picked a better location to enjoy exploring the French Quarter. It was within easy walking distance to everything in the Quarter as well as Canal Street and Marigny. We stayed in an interior king bed room facing the pool on the 6th floor. The ceilings were slanted making the room feel cozy, but it didn't feel cramped as there was plenty of room with a separate desk/tv area. The pool area was nice with comfortable lounge chairs and tables with umbrellas. After having dinner and wondering around the Quarter, we enjoyed coming back to the hotel bar. The back side of the bar faces Bourbon Street with french doors that open out so you can listen to good jazz, blues or dixieland (whatever band is playing that particular night) while watching the parade of people walking down Bourbon Street. The hotel lobby is very nice. There are several comfortable seating areas perfect for meeting up with friends before going out or taking a break from the heat/walking. There was always complementary ice water available for hotel guests. This wasn't our first time to visit New Orleans, but the Bourbon Orleans was definitely the nicest most convenient place we have stayed in all of our trips here.…
First off, if you're thinking about visiting New Orleans, don't. Spend your money and your vacation elsewhere. This city and everything about it is way overrated, it's rundown, filthy, crowded with a horrid decomposing smell that is nauseating. Now about this hotel. The worst experience in all the years of our travels. We booked a Priceline package, arrived at the hotel after our flight and checked in. Front desk staff are rude and treat you as if they're doing you a favor. They assigned us a dark moldy handicapped room with no closets. Which was not the worst thing about the room. It was the bathroom. The handicap bars basically made the toilet unusable, and the shower lacked a tub. Just a standup shower, on the floor. Which obviously floods the bathroom and room. As soon as my wife and I got to the room and saw the bathroom/shower situation, I complained to the front desk as soon as we took our luggage into the room and requested a different room. I was told by the rude front desk staff that the hotel was overbooked and there were no other rooms available. We stayed the night. In the morning I attempted to take a shower, but the bathroom was flooded as expected. I then went to the front desk to complain again and request a different room. In the chaotic scene at the front desk where guests had queued up and some reservations could not be found and the front desk was attempting to find accommodations in different hotels, I was told the same thing: the hotel is overbooked and there are no rooms available. Hotel engineer also confirmed the handicapped room is flawed. We then decided to check out and change hotels at great inconvenience. Luckily we were able to find a room at a different hotel but at a higher cost. Hotel has been stonewalling us in issuing a refund, I've spent hours with Priceline for a refund and it is still ongoing. You've been warned. Don't waste your time and money with this city, and particularly this hotel.…
I recently planned a mini corporate event and I was down to two hotels in the French Quarter. I am so glad I chose Bourbon Orleans! We had restful nights and the rooms were super clean. We did not hear the outside noise from within the hotel. Quality linens and rooms can be refreshed at request. Location - you cannot beat this location EVERYTHING is within a 4-minute walk. Staff - hands down the best staff I have worked with. Alyssa and Hudson have excellent communication skills --promptly addressing any questions/needs. As an additional highlight -- TRANSPORTATION - We used NOLA Transportation Services/ New Orleans Transportation Service Shawn was understanding of our needs and was so willing to assist us in getting our team to and from the airport. He was recommended by the hotel. He can assist groups and individuals. One regret is not having enough time to do one of the tours he provides! Very punctual!…
It was an awesome stay. we were on spring break with our teen kids and it was awesome. it's so close to everything. cafe do monde right around the corner and bourbon right there. great history with this hotel too. you can hear everything in the hallway but it's old and I get it.
