We enjoyed everything about this hotel. The employees were very accommodating and the location was perfect. Attendants went out of their way to be helpful. Loved the authentic and old feel of the rooms yet they were clean with a modern touch. We would definitely stay at the HR again.

The hotel has a great french quarter vibe. The courtyard rooms are like walking into a old pirate hovel. Rooms are small but how space do you need to sleep. Its an easy walk to ( and stagger from) the French highlights and the Marigny, and close to CBD if you actually need to get some work done.

Our room was small and cute with brick and hardwoods. It was right outside where the fountain was. Lots of new Orleans flair! Loved it! Only downfall was the hotel parking was full so we had to park down by the market. Not bad for checking in but sucks when leaving.

The staff was awesome they was always there eager to answer any questions. Of course the location could not have been better for us. We was lucky to get a parking spot there so we were very pleased with our stay.

Absolute worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Had to park three miles away and pay $55 dollars a day to park. No valet. Zero hot water in our room. Hardest bed and got zero sleep due to balcony doors opening at night. Walls are paper thin so you will hear every conversation. Extremely tiny room. Politely asked to cancel... More

Liked hotel overall. Will go back again, great location. Parking additional $26 to the room, but worth using. Great time in a great city. Safe didn't work, but didn't really need so no big deal to me. Front staff and bellmen very helpful.

We checked into Hotel Royal on a Tuesday for a 6 day stay for our wedding. Upon check in I knew it was going to be a great experience. I read every single review possible before checking in and couldn't find anything to complain about. Our first room was beautiful but a little too small to get ready in. It... More

If you don't mind stairs and have minimal bags it's perfect; otherwise request lower level maybe. The staff is so friendly and informative. The room was very comfortable and clean. We were mainly out and about for the most part but felt very safe and welcomed by the staff.

Is a place where you can walk to every place you want to in the French Quarter. Nice people They just need to change the mattress, they are not comfortable. Small TV, if you like to lay down for a while is not nice. Room 8 was really big. Bathroom otherwise is really small, the Toilet especially, if you are... More

Good location, near Frenchmen and Bourbon Street but cleanliness is not on par. Housekeeping stinks. No temperature control in room. Next time i will spend more for a clean hotel room with the same location

Staying in French Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
