I booked into this hotel and paid for a balcony courtyard room through Expedia. When I arrived they had given my balcony room away and had put me in an inside room without a window. This room is worth significantly less (on their own hotel website) and I was assured that I would either be moved in the coming days... More

This hotel is so charming with the beautiful pool and friendly staff. I had a room with a balcony overlooking the pool. Location is excellent being a short walk from both Jackson Square and Bourbon street.

Yes, this hotel is located ideally in the French Quarter, but the facility is barely passable and the staff is horrible. We arrived to discover someone else had been assigned our room and had to wait while the mis-assigned tenants were moved to their proper room and the room was (barely) cleaned by the desk clerk (housekeeping staff was gone... Very simple hotel. My husband and I spent 3 nights here and while the rooms are not huge, if you don't plan on spending a lot of time in the hotel, than this is perfect. It's clean, friendly staff with a nice romantic environment. We'd stay here again.

This hotel has a lot of potential. It is very cute (shabby chic) and in a great location. However the beds need to be updated, the doors need stoppers to stop their echoing slams all day and night, and the staff needs to be trained in courtesy. We switched hotels and stayed up the street for a similar price in... More

The hotel is in the perfect location, we could see the cathedral from our balcony. The A/C worked properly (it stayed colder than we had it set on, but we didn't mind). The room was very spacious and nice, but the mattress was horrible. I would have rather slept on the ground with a sleeping bag it was that bad.... More

Clean, tidy hotel right near Jackson Square. Close to the action anywhere in the French Quarter, but far enough away that it was easy to get a good night's sleep, even if we hit the sack earlier rather than later. The staff is terrific! Friendly and efficient. The beds however need some TLC. While I was comfortable, my husband was... More

This hotel is in the perfect location to walk to everything in the quarter. we stayed in room 301 which is a very small room but we were fine with that since we were only planning on sleeping there. the balcony was great with a wonderful view of St. Louis cathedral. the main problem is that the hotel is located... Absolutely the best hotel that I have ever stayed in while in New Orleans. The location was perfect. Two blocks from Bourbon St and two blocks from Jackson Square. Parking was not a problem at all. There was a lot on the same block that offered 24 hour parking for $35 which is par for New Orleans. We had access... More

Staying in French Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
