My husband and I had a great time and enjoyed staying at the Plaza Suite Hotel Resort. It is within walking distance of the Convention Center. I was attending a Mary Kay Conference in New Orleans for 4 days and it was great that I didn't have to get a taxi. It was within walking distance of the WWII Museum,...

This resort is great. It is located just a few blocks from the French Quarter in the warehouse district. There are many fun bars and restaurants just steps away from the resort. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The rooms are very nice and comfortable.

excellent place to stay, roomy, nice, easy to talk to the French Quarter, fine restaurants and local ones easy to get to from here. Warehouse District is looking up. Found Emerils and El Gato Negro plan to stay again next year.

We stayed three nights and four days. We found the staff friendly and helpful. Our room, 311, had a window and a loft up a circular staircase (that would have been difficult to negotiate with a large suitcase). The room was clean and well-maintained and we enjoyed it for the time we were there. Wi-Fi was strong and fast the...

Hotel has gone down a great deal over the past few years. Used to stay here a lot but the quality has gone down while the price has gone up. Rooms are dated and plumbing was an issue. Interior rooms have no natural light and you feel "enclosed". Balcony rooms have natural lighting and feel open but still have issues...

Right outside our door, there is a big area that had big boxes sitting there for the whole time. Area doesn't look too inviting. Air Conditioning was Very loud. While in our unit, we could hear people talking somewhere but that actually didn't bother me.Room was rather dim--needs a lot more lights. Updates needed Staff was nice and helpful. Parking...

Older hotel with many lovely upgrades. Beautiful pictures on every room wall. Furniture is dark wood French style. We saw the same style in a plantation home tour. Very elegant. The bed in each bedroom was four poster style and, although comfortable, they creaked a lot with movement. Very high ceilings on the first floor and the second floor was...

We stayed here as part of an international timeshare swop. The apartment we had was great - it had a loft style bedroom and lovely atmosphere. The kitchen and bathroom were small but they were absolutely adequate. Yes the property is old - hello its an historic fire house. I thought that it was great fun. The staff that we...

Friendly staff. Great location near Harrah's; walking distance to Riverwalk, Bourbon Street, downtown, etc. Property is old and not clean; bright lights always on in hallway and illuminate bedroom that only has shutters. Hot tub not clean. Washing machines, although free, were dirty. Would not stay here again.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
