It could be a matter of expectations, but I think many of these reviews are way off base. I have stayed at Chateau Orleans many times, usually during the Mardi Gras season and am a big fan of the place. This is not a good place if you want to be fussed over and constantly pampered, but if you want...

Where do we start? We were placed in building A12. That building has no elevator, so if you have mobility issues or a lot of luggage, it quite the tote up 4 flights of stairs. Our room had a full-sized bed for two adults. The couch also pulled out into a bed, but we didn't use it at all to...

This place is outdated, dirty carpets, bad housekeeping. There's hardly ever anyone at the front desk that made our stay feel insecure. The only benefit of staying here is that the location is close to bourbon street. But I'm sure there are many in this price range that have more to offer.

We booked this trip from the UK. The hotel is in a great location near the French Market, near Bourbon street and other attractions. Our room was spacious and clean, tiled floor with old traditional furniture that suited the building and ambiance. However I felt that several things let the hotel down.... 1. Breakfast for $200 a night I felt...

Good location depending on where your room is. Place is old and rustic which is fine but not a fair timeshare trade at all. Not a resort and no such service to even come close. Nobody on premises at night and no service for room on Sundays... On one side of building boarders a sketchy side where a bar across...

We received a stay at this hotel as a gift. We stayed five minutes..it was old, dirty, broken tv, etc. No elevator to bring up luggage had to drag it up the stairs. not a wheelchair friendly place, if you need one. They still charged us for the stay! We had to go to another hotel. Read the other reviews,...

Chateau Orleans is in the Heart of 'touristy' New Orleans. It's literally just hundreds of feet from restaurants, clubs, artsy-craftsy shops and basic necessities and bodega-style shopping. Considering its proximity to Bourbon Street, the facility is remarkably quiet. It's just the right distance from the partying. The room has lovely wood shutters on its many windows all around that allowed...

Initially walking into the room the furniture looked to be about 20 years old and not in a cool vintage-y way. The carpet was worn down and the threadbare couches sagged in such a defeated way it was almost sad to look at. I came down here with my parents and stayed in a one bedroom hotel room with a...

OMG!!! I called for simple hotel, airport and area information and spoke with a young lady at 504-524-8410 and her response was "girl you have a phone google it" are you serious. I called back the next day hoping to speak to a Manager and at this same number I spoke to a Paul Collins who I guess trained that...

We loved the location of this hotel. Very close to everything. It's older and can be difficult to find the staff. We found the staff helpful and laid back when they were around. The pool is a welcome oasis in the French quarter in the summer. They have guest laundry available free

Staying in French Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
