Detailed Reviews
You might not think to stay on busy Rampart Street but Rampart makes a turn and becomes pleasantly residential and Chez Palmiers is a beautiful small B&B and probably the best stay we have ever had in 25 years of coming to NOLA. There are only three rooms and we chose the largest which is the British room and is actually a two room suite. The living room does have a pull out couch. Each room has a separate heat/air unit which a very quiet. We loved the attention to details such as top quality bedding and towels; large bedside cabinets; good lighting; overhead fans; separate bath & toilet; large counter with sink; good storage with drawers and closet. There is a kitchen where a continental breakfast is served and Betsy normally bakes something and there is plently of coffee, yogurt, delicious home-made granola. Out in back there is a small pool (bring your bathing suit) as well sitting areas. We loved it.

Stayed over Mardi Gras in the Hail Britannia Suite. As you entered the Hallway it was the first door to the left on entering you were in a large sitting are with settee and two armchairs, on through you came to large bedroom that had a very comfortable bed and pillows, tea making facilities and fridge, through to large vanity area, and on again to bathroom with shower bath combination. Lovely antique furniture in all rooms, bedside lamps amazing, with a British feel hence the name of the room.
Outside was a nice decking area with small pool and furniture.
Breakfast was excellent wide choice of things on offer, and Betsy homemade offerings were wonderful, I could have ate the whole plate of cheese and bacon scones they were so good.
Betsy was so charming and helpful with anything you needed to know.
Location is good everything within 10-30 minute walking distance.
Staying at Chez Palmiers with such great hosts that made you feel so at home made our Mardi Gras stay that little bit extra special. Many Thanks.
I would also like to thank Betsy for arranging our driver Charles, who took us back to the airport, what a charming and knowledgeable gentleman he was.

Dear Paul, Thank you for your very kind comments and thorough review. We were so happy to have you and Hazel as guests--our favorite kind of folk: warm, adventurous, and eager to take on all the fun of New Orleans and Mardi Gras. We love for people to feel at home and comfortable: sleeping well, waking up to a light breakfast, exploring sights near and far, then returning to relax on the deck. We wish you continued worldwide adventures and a return to us soon. Laissez les bons temps rouler!

Where can I start. This is an amazing b&b. We stayed in the Britannia suite for 16 nights, clean towels every other day and fresh sheets too. An amazing location as this is right on the edge of the French quarter so close enough to walk to all of the main sights and nightlife and cheap enough to jump in an Uber for any of those wonderful recommendations that you may gain from Betsy or Bill (hosts and owners). Far enough away from Bourbon Street so a really tranquil area for kicking back and relaxing.
The real star of the show thou is Betsy, a wonderful breakfast every morning, something different every day, home cooked too and always presented under a beautiful cloth (you were always eager to see what was under the cloth each day) Eggs, cheese, quiche, fruit, breads, jams.
And the host herself / a wonderful warm person - she lent me her wig cap so I could pin my long hair up ready for Pride parade. Betsy gave us so many wonderful recommendations for music, restaurants…stuff that just isn’t published in the guide books…
We made picnics and Betsy gave us all the bits we needed to make our picnics special. I felt as thou we were friends of these wonderful warm people and that we were simply staying with friends and not paying guests…
We have travelled far and wide and honestly can say the hospitality we received from Betsy and Bill is the best we have ever received. Why stay in a faceless hotel, when you can stay here…
We arrived as guests and left as friends..
Book now!

Sandra, It was truly my pleasure to host you and Gavin on this long-awaited trip to New Orleans. To be able to share stories, tips and recommendations with guests who choose to do a deep exploration of our city and beyond is an honor for any innkeeper. To learn about your own story is the icing on the cake. Thank you for sharing your experience at Chez Palmiers with future travelers, who will hopefully embrace the bed and breakfast atmosphere that you thoughtfully described. We shall meet again, my friends! Until then, may all your travels be joyful.

My husband and I stayed at Chez Palmiers for five nights on 2/20-2/25 and we immediately loved the house, their owners—Betsy and Bill and their two cute basset hound dogs (Mabel and Marge). We stayed at the From Russia With Love Room and it was very clean, charming and oh so very comfortable! The room is tastefully decorated with antiques the owners collected from their travels. We loved coming to the house after a long day of exploring the city. The house is just a short minute walk (approximately 10 minutes) to the French quarter/Bourbon Street. It’s the perfect location as it’s very close but also far enough from the noise from the French quarter and Bourbon Street. We enjoyed waking up every morning to fresh fruit, fresh baked goodies and coffee and enjoyed our talks with Betsy and Bill. We loved being greeted by the dogs Mabel and Marge in the mornings! Betsy also gave us great recommendations for places to eat and areas to visit and made our experience in New Orleans a memorable one. After visiting other Bed and Breakfasts throughout New England, this is hands down the best service we have received.

Enjoyed our stay, This was our first time in a bed and breakfast. Betsy did a great job at making us feel welcome and comfortable. It is a charming place to stay within walking distance to french quarter and french market. We enjoyed the breakfast with fresh baked goodies like blueberry muffins, biscuits. Also available for breakfast cereal, fruit, yogurt, and great coffee. Her dogs were fun to be around.

Betsy is beyond the perfect host. My son and I traveled to NOLA for his birthday and she made the stay us just perfect, first by welcoming us with a happy birthday banner in our room! That was such a thoughtful touch that just kicked off our trip in the best way. She recommended great restaurants (we ate at most of her recommendations and loved the food) and helped us arrange a wonderful walking tour with Lucky Bean tours. She heated up the pool for us and my son loved taking a dip after walking around the city all day. A continental breakfast with a baked good was there every morning, even our last morning when we had to leave very early for the airport. The room (To Russia with Love) was clean and decorated well and the beds were comfortable. Our stay was perfect and we'd stay there again if we go back.

Thank you so much! I was so glad that your son chose New Orleans as his birthday destination. You are both adventurous travelers (and eaters!), so it was terrific to hear your reviews of various restaurants. I hope your travels bring you back to us again. Next time, bring your husband, so that Abram will have an oyster-eating partner. Best wishes!

So many wonderful impressions!
1) Betsy is an angel. I'm pretty introverted with strangers, particularly when traveling. Betsy made me feel like I was visiting an old friend. I couldn't shut up. She has such a kind and concerned way about her and I'm very much looking forward to visiting her again.
2) dogs. Particularly basset hounds. While this isn't a place where guests can bring their own pets, you will undoubtedly run across Mabel and Marge. They are beautiful and goofy. I briefly considered stuffing Marge in my luggage but given that she would likely not survive the flight, decided her best bet was staying at home cozy with mom and sis.
3) every morning, Betsy offered a delightful and different continental breakfast offering which included one of the following: blueberry muffins, banana bread, mini quiche, apple danish. Plus fruit. There was plenty, as well, along with fresh coffee.
4) my privacy was respected but I could text Betsy at any time if something was needed.
5) parking was a bit tricky at times but a spot would somehow turn up when needed.
6) blocks away from the French Quarter (walking distance) and some great restaurants nearby.
7) I had everything I needed and then some. Loved staying at Chez Palmiers and cannot wait to come back.

What a thoughtful, kind review! We thank you for your stay and for taking the time to let future guests -- and dog-lovers-- know what to expect when they select Chez Palmiers. So happy that you felt comfortable and taken care of. That's our favorite thing; letting visitors enjoy the the best of New Orleans, then coming back to a relaxing pool, good night's sleep, and chicory coffee with breakfast to start the next day's adventure, adding some basset hound enthusiastic tail wags for good measure. Marge thanks for you for not dog-napping her, but truly looks forward to seeing you again soon. Happy travels!

Nearly everything about this establishment was superb, from the accommodations to the service. The owner interacted with us every day and gave us wonderful recommendations with all of our conversations being more than pleasant and lasting longer than we probably planned. The room was just as we had hoped; quaint, cozy and comfortable. The location was also not too far yet not too close to all the hustle and bustle of Bourbon street and the French Quarter which is what were hoping for. The patio and pool, which unfortunately we were unable to take advantage of, was serene and easy on the eyes. The food was also very good, just wish it could of been a bit more hearty as it was more of a continental style breakfast. I definitely plan on staying here again in the future and will likely keep in touch with the owner. Thank you again Betsy for your kindness, generosity, and overall hospitality which is becoming more and more difficult to find these days...

Our family of 5 stayed at Chez Palmiers to celebrate my parents' 50th anniversary and could not have had a more wonderful time. Betsy, our host, was so warm and welcoming. She gave great recommendations and was a delight to chat with each morning over breakfast. She had fabulous breakfasts for us each day, along with a fridge stocked with yogurt, juice, milk, fruit, etc. We had plenty to sustain us for a day of sightseeing. Mabel the Bassett hound was a charmer who made sure to let us know where her treat jar was.
The house is gorgeous! We were lucky enough to reserve all 3 bedrooms, which were spacious, comfortable and clean, with tons of fun decor. A/C worked great on the warmer days and the beds had comfy mattresses. The backyard had plenty of seating for our family to gather throughout the day and evening.
Chez Palmiers is a place that you're sad to leave! We can't wait to be back someday soon.
