LOVED this place, and will be back! Lynn was a great hostess! She recommended some of the best places we wound up seeing in Nawlins, some places we would not have found on our own. And.....Location, Location, Location! So close to both Bourbon AND Frenchmen streets. Can't wait to visit/stay again!
Royal Barracks is a great place to stay.great location our daughter was getting married in Nola lynne was brilliant. The rooms are full of character there is a great courtyard which we all enjoyed There is washing facilities for clothes which came in very handy. I would definitely recommend a stay here
We stayed for 3 nights in the Gothic room. Perfect walking distance to all the fun and food, but quiet and private. Very charming room, with small fridge, microwave and coffee maker. Bed was very comfortable and host was incredibly accommodating. We really enjoyed our stay. Thank you!
This was my 3rd visit to NoLa and my 2nd stay at RBGH. After discovering this place last year I would never stay anywhere else. Everything about it is comfortable, inviting and welcoming. If you like conversations with your neighbors on the patio, stay here. If you don't like that sterile cookie cutter hotel vibe, stay here. If you want a comfortable bed and a room with personality, stay here. If you like fancy or formal or pristine, don't. I can't say enough about the feelings I get when I stay at this place, but saying that I will be back year after year and when I am, I'll be staying at RBGH should tell you what you need to know. Thanks, Lynn! You helped make it great!!! Tip: If you need a large bathroom, you won't want the Suite, or the Bunk Room. The other rooms have larger bathrooms.…
We love the RBGH and wouldn't stay anywhere else in the Quarter!!! This was our 2nd NoLa sister trip and our second stay at the RB. It's no frills but full of character. We spent time in the court yard making friends and on the stoop watching strangers. Super comfy beds, fantastic Operations Manager Lynn and just outright wonderful in everyway!
If you want to really experience the French Quarter, this is the property for you. Our group rented 3 of the rooms and we were all agreed that we would 100% return to this property again. The Suite is big and spaciaous. The garden room is nice because it opened up on the lovely courtyard and the Mardi Gras room is decorated well and has a tub!. The property attendent went out of her way to make this vacation easy and memorable. Although there isn't a "front desk", she made it feel like she was still tending to us. We had waters in our room fridge and we loved the CD player out in the courtyard where we played jazz music to add to the ambiance. Finally the very best reason to rent this place, the LOCATION. We love the quarter but generally spend a lot of time over at Frenchman street. I love that we could walk home after a perfect night of listening to music at D.B.A! We will definitely be back!! Thanks again!!…
Spent 14 wonderful days and nights at this rustic, neighborhood-based guest house. No hallways, no. Elevators.. Each room opens to the outdoors. 6 individually decorated. Rooms. My room, Bunk Room, was cozy, wonderfully decorated and felt like home instantly. Quiet street,, far from noisy drunken revelers........but close enough to join the noisy drunken revelers. Shopping was close. French Market two blocks away. Back yard is delight.. Just overgrown enough to be comfortable and most definitely typical New Orleans. The Innkeeper, Cat (Catherine) Is a master at hospitality. She. Will quickly become your friend. This was my tenth. Visit in 11. Yers and. I will stay nowhere else.
With everything going on with the COVID-19 this is one of the few hotels that will not refund and give vouchers. Spoke with customer service and was could not really get a word in because she spoke over me the entire time. Got off the call with more questions than answers. You can't even speak to a manager and leave a call back number to speak with anyone because she would not allow you to do so. Stay away from this place and stick with companies like Hilton and etc. They are more willing to work with you during a global crisis.
This year I went to my first Mardi Gras and was fortunate enough to get the Bunk Room! I loved it! It was the perfect location for enjoying life in the French Quarter. The room was quiet and had everything I needed for my stay. I had met Kelly on a previous trip to New Orleans (she’s a big reason why I booked at RBGH), and thought she was great. After staying there, I was wrong; she’s FABULOUS! I look forward to staying there again!
My boyfriend and I came to town for a few days. The guest house is in the Quarter but far enough away from the craziness so it was nice and quiet. I felt like Goldilocks, everything was "just right". We stayed in the Garden room. The bed was firm and very good to sleep in. The towels we super soft. There was even cozy complimentary bathrobes! I enjoyed wearing it while I drank my morning coffee in the magical courtyard. If you like cute, cozy and a touch of the historical, this is the perfect place to stay.
