Spent 14 wonderful days and nights at this rustic, neighborhood-based guest house. No hallways, no. Elevators.. Each room opens to the outdoors. 6 individually decorated. Rooms. My room, Bunk Room, was cozy, wonderfully decorated and felt like home instantly. Quiet street,, far from noisy drunken revelers........but close enough to join the noisy drunken revelers. Shopping was close. French Market two blocks away. Back yard is delight.. Just overgrown enough to be comfortable and most definitely typical New Orleans. The Innkeeper, Cat (Catherine) Is a master at hospitality. She. Will quickly become your friend. This was my tenth. Visit in 11. Yers and. I will stay nowhere else.
This year I went to my first Mardi Gras and was fortunate enough to get the Bunk Room! I loved it! It was the perfect location for enjoying life in the French Quarter. The room was quiet and had everything I needed for my stay. I had met Kelly on a previous trip to New Orleans (she’s a big reason why I booked at RBGH), and thought she was great. After staying there, I was wrong; she’s FABULOUS! I look forward to staying there again!
My boyfriend and I came to town for a few days. The guest house is in the Quarter but far enough away from the craziness so it was nice and quiet. I felt like Goldilocks, everything was "just right". We stayed in the Garden room. The bed was firm and very good to sleep in. The towels we super soft. There was even cozy complimentary bathrobes! I enjoyed wearing it while I drank my morning coffee in the magical courtyard. If you like cute, cozy and a touch of the historical, this is the perfect place to stay.
What a great place. Quirky style. Perfect host in Kelly. Very friendly locals. Outstanding location in my now, favourite place, New Orleans. Music and cocktails around every corner and food special to this special place. Gumbo? Oysters? A grenade cocktail? You won't get better.
So glad I moved here for my last 2 nights after a conference. I hope to go back and explore more! Kelly was great telling me where to go in the 'hood and I had a blast up the street at the Golden Lantern. Felt totally safe by myself as a woman and everything I needed was in walking distance and lots of wonderful shoppes, restos and live music places on Frenchmen. Getting in/out of my room was a bit tight with luggage as my door was down a narrow passageway but I loved the uniqueness of the property and the back garden patio. Again, I wish I had more time and look forward to my next visit to New Orleans
