After driving 8+ hours to New Orleans, my daughter and I arrived to find the hotel we booked was closed (even though I had a confirmation from the hotel company with a reservation number!!). We called The Ponchartrain Hotel and Josh rescued us. We pulled up and Karon out front (I'm sure I'm spelling his name wrong) got our bags and Josh behind the desk got us a hotel room. The kindness we were showed was amazing. Karon always greeted my daughter and I by name and Josh helped me when I left my cell phone in the car the next day. What could have been a disaster of trip with the first hotel, turned into one of our best hotel experiences. You have customers for life.
I stayed at the Pontchartrain Hotel for my first time back in Dec 2019. I loved my hotel room...view was amazing...great bed & bathroom, and the decor in the room thumbs up. I love the notion of using a key vs. the standard hotel swipe cards. It is recommended you leave your hotel key at the front desk because if you lose it...there is a fee which I honestly don't mind that aspect...gives each guest a chance to connect more with the Hotel Staff which I really liked Trent & Amanda. Both lovely and very helpful along with Liz and Brittany. I would definitely stay at the hotel again and recommend it to folks like come to New Orleans often and might want a break from the hustle & bustle of the French Quarter or Downtown. It's a great option the Pontchartrain Hotel...has more of a local feel to it and it's right in the Garden District. Lots of places to grab something to eat and the food at the hotel is nice too especially the desserts and you must try the Mile High Pie!…
We decided to have a quick one night out on a Saturday night. This hotel is full of charm. Old school set up and feel but decor is obviously not dated at all. Feels like a step back in time to luxury accommodations from a long gone era. Everyone we encountered on staff was great. From Mike and the other valets to checkin. Ronesha was especially helpful at checkin to make sure we had everything thing we needed. Close to the quarter if you are so inclined and a multitude of great places to eat nearby. Situated in the Garden district area there are many fabulous homes to see. Check it out. You will not be disappointed!
Wonderful and attentive service. We were staying in town for a surgical procedure and the hotel staff was very understanding, flexible, and responsive. They made us feel at home. The building itself is also beautiful, with many classy and interesting spaces
What a wonderful gem! We stayed here because our other hotel had cancelled due to covid. I am so very thrilled they cancelled! This hotel is my favorite of all the hotels I have stayed at in Nola! (I’ve stayed in 9 total) It was clean, quiet, large, comfortable and did not have a smell like many other hotels. It was right on the streetcar line and close to good food. The female who checked us in was so helpful and made us feel so welcome. We were concerned with lack of hot water in our hotel room. The engineer was up here in a few minutes, fixed it, and then the front desk checked to make sure we were comfortable. The room was fabulous and we would stay here again in a heartbeat!
