Our room was lovely and the rooftop bar was amazing! Even though the rooftop bar is only on the sixth floor, I think, it provides a great panoramic view of the city. Great service from the entire staff especially Keron, Raquel and Alexis! Everyone was polite, friendly and super attentive!
Everything from the check in to check out (shout out to Jenny at the front desk who was great) went smoothly. The rooms are well appointed and have a certain old time feel to them. There’s a rooftop bar, a breakfast Café and bar/restaurant in this small boutique hotel. It was easy to get to surrounding attractions. Highly recommend
We ahd a wonderful time at this hotel. The food in the restaurant was excellent as was the music in the bar after dinner. The Garden District is beautiful and the hotel was within walking district to the Quarter, Cafe du Monde and many museums. The City is great, despite the recent reports of increased crime.
If you like character, this hotel is for you. It has the feel of old New Orleans. The location is good, and everyone who works there is extremely nice. The rooms, however, are a bit out-dated and could definitely use an upgrade.
very nice stay. Love the rooftop bar. Room was very comfortable and quiet. Wait staff in the bar was great and helpful, Chose to stay here because I love the garden district and that its not near busy Bourbon Street. All the employees were exemplary.
We celebrated our anniversary by having a staycation at the Pontchartrain. From the moment we made the reservation, it was an incredible experience. Corey and the rest of the valet team was fantastic on arrival. We'd elected to get a city view room with an add-on for in-room champagne; the staff contacted me immediately to ask (if I was comfortable sharing) the occasion and throughout our interactions thereafter, they went the extra mile to congratulate us. Check-in was a breeze (thank you Vera!). The rooms use actual keys, and ours was gorgeous - very spacious and welcoming, filled with light from all the windows. We ended up trying the restaurant (Jack Rose) and the rooftop bar, as well as getting coffee in the little breakfast spot in the front - all perfect. I especially appreciated, at checkout, that the Latonia and Kaye checked in with me about our stay and went over the billing in detail - no surprises of course, but a little extra attentiveness that capped an already incredible experience. Can't recommend staying here highly enough - thank you to the Pontchartrain team for making our anniversary extra special.…
This place is great! Very historical old hotel with a funky vibe. Rooftop bar is amazing and they have a solid beverage program that will amaze you. Great location and close to all things good down in the garden district. Will definitely return.
My wife and I spent our wedding night here and it was such a beautiful room and bathroom. The end of the bed lounge chair and other furniture made our stay feel extra special. The only reason I lowered the rating from 5, is that I had added on some wine bottles for our special occasion and never received. I tried to clarify afterwards that we had not received that or used parking (which were both charged to our room). They removed the parking charge but not the Amenity of the bottles. I have attempted a couple times to get this cleared up but no luck. Beyond that hiccup it was a nice stay, I just have to keep in mind of any add-ons in the future.
Wonderful hotel in the Garden District. The hotel is very New Orleans, much more fun place to stay than a stale hotel chain. Rooms were very nice and the hotel has great amenities. Downstairs has a breakfast cafe and cocktail bar that are excellent. The crown jewel however, is the roof top bar with an incredible view. One other item of note, the entire hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful. It was a pleasure to stay there.
Our family stayed in 3 rooms on the 7th floor. We enjoyed the 'city view' perspective. Our group ranged from 12 - 66 and everyone was happy. The staff was fabulous - especially Jenny at the Front Desk! The rooftop bar was great fun and we found the hotel's food offerings attractive and better than expected. Kudos to all at The Ponchartrain Hotel - we will return!
