This hotel is right across the street from the convention center which makes it convenient. However, it is more like a Courtyard Marriott and seems to probably have been a Courtyard Marriott that got upgraded to a regular Marriott. The furniture is that of a regular Marriott, i.e. bed was more comfortable, but the Courtyard feel is in the bathroom appearance, tub, sink etc. It was under construction and the convention center also had a lot of construction. It was priced as a regular Marriott for a Courtyard experience, which was not favorable. Would probably recommend the other hotel across from the convention center which is connected by the Riverwalk instead Hilton Riverside.

After six hours on the road we got there right at check in and there was no rooms available. They said they'll call us when one is ready. Hour and half goes by and Im sitting in the lobby with a lot of other guests waiting on a room. I was getting nervous and asked again and they had one. Well thank you for calling me. Look at other reviews and you'll see this is a common problem. The place looks dumpy. Dirty laundry setting in the hall. The beds were comfortable at least. The restaurant is a joke. Ordered my SO a continental breakfast. Fresh fruit, slice of banana bread and cereal. Meaning maybe a strawberry and a half cut up. HALF a slice bread. No cereal. Had to go back down to ask for it. By far the the worst hotel at this price point. Was the first and last time I stay at Marriott.

The hotel itself was very nice and accommodating. The room was very clean and comfortable. Our only issue was the construction in the area making transportation incredibly inconvenient. The location is great, so once construction is complete it will be a great destination.

Yes the property is undergoing renovations until April 2020, the Convention Center is too, and you can still access it easily by walking past the Hyatt to cross over. But really a nice property. I had a nice King room and was upgraded with my Marriott Status. Nice front counter, nice staff, was very nice time in New Orleans for my event across the street at the Convention Center. The bathrooms could use some upgrading, mine had wallpaper peeling off, but the shower was nice and warm. Needs the new TV systems you see at other properties. The reception was terrible on the TV and no bluetooth features.
