Nestled between the French Quarter and the Ninth Ward, the Faubourg Marigny & Bywater environs are largely residential. Of course, folks around here love to go out and have a good time as much as they do anywhere in NOLA. And if out-of-towners want to join in the festivities, well then so much the better! Home to some of the most revered live music venues in New Orleans, an eclectic gaggle of gourmand dining

destinations, and a come-as-you-are vibe that’s as infectious as it is alluring, this is real deal New Orleans oozing with southern hospitality and the promise of a most epic night out. For endless opportunities to boogie, to admire row upon row of lovingly restored homes, and to escape the fray of the more touristic parts of town (but still live it up in grand style) head to Faubourg Marigny & Bywater.

The Bywater, like most of New Orleans (and unlike most major cities in the the North) is integrated racially and economically. Many parts of the 9th ward were hit hard by Katrina and are still recovering. It's a lovely, unique neighborhood in New Orleans. I'm planning to move down for a job, and the Bywater is #1 on my list of desirable locations.
That said, according to some report or other, I currently live in the "hottest neighborhood in the country" (Ukrainian Village in Chicago) and I would *never* leave an Amazon box in my car, let alone kayaks and bicycles. Kelly, the owner of Lookout Inn, is very helpful and accommodating, so I suggest reaching out to her to see if she could help with suggestions.
Hey Joe,
Street parking is available right outside the inn. It is safe, free and there are no parking restrictions.
Any other questions, please let me know.
