A pleasant experience in New Orleans! We absolutely enjoyed our weekend getaway at the Lions Inn. I’m already checking dates so we can make a return visit. We are locals and always like to make staycations in NOLA. I think I finally found a place that checks off all on my list. It is a quiet and peaceful location. Parking is easy and most importantly, FREE! There are plenty of restaurants nearby that are delicious. Easy walk to the FQ. Price is awesome and can hardly be beat. And the owner made the check-in process easy. He was always available and so nice to work with. We loved the pool area and hung out there throughout our stay. It was a nice place to relax and enjoy a drink before or after dinner. We stayed in Room A and loved the location of the room as well as the layout. The kitchenette was a bonus! Such a quaint Inn and I highly recommend this place to fellow travelers. Although, try to save a room for me whenever we plan to visit again soon :)…
I live in Nola and had no idea this place was here! What a gem. We staycationed here for a weekend with friends from out of town. Seriously an Oasis! The owners/staff could not be anymore chill and genuinely caring. Ed and Jackie- you are the best! Even brought out a cake on my husband’s birthday. The grounds and pool are so beautiful. So peaceful - had some beautiful quiet mornings in the garden. The atmosphere was so laid back. It’s a quiet oasis but also a place relax and let loose a little. A few of us were up probably a too late in the pool having fun and it was no problem. We really felt at home. It’s walking distance from Frenchman St/ the quarter and bars in the bywater. This is the first review I’ve ever left- I don’t usually do reviews. That’s how much I loved it!
From the In keeper Ed to the housekeeper Jackie it was a wonderful visit. The room was clean and beautiful. The pool area and water features created a sense of peace and calm and beauty. As a person who dislikes strange beds and surroundings I was very pleased to feel soooooo comfortable! If you want a quiet, serene safe place to stay I highly recommend the Lion's Inn.
We celebrated our 20th anniversary with a weekend getaway to New Orleans amd stayed at Lions Inn this weekend! The entire place is beautiful and quiet & peaceful! The garden and pool area is so wonderfully done! Our room the Sunroom was so nice and great views out to the garden & pool area! The stain glass windows are beautiful! Ed takes amazing care of his bed & breakfast and so nice to talk with...very helpful and sweet man! We will definitely be back to stay again one day!
During the month of February, we spent nine nights at the “Lions Inn Bed & Breakfast. Our experience was magnificent. Ed, the owner, welcomes you into his home very graciously. The rooms are impeccably clean and decorated. The grounds are beautiful and welcoming. We look forward to our next visit. Thankyou Ed.
Beautiful b&b in a perfect location. Quiet at night with an easy walk to the parties and music on Frenchmen st. French quarter just a few blocks further. Lovely pool area (though it was a bit too cold to swim when I visited) and nice jacuzzi. The manager Ed was great, hope to be back soon
The time stops when you walk in this house. The backyard is a treasure of pure relax and magic. The host Ed and Jackie really make you feel welcome and at peace. Everything is just perfect. Looking forward to come back!
Wonderful place. We loved the hot tub we loved the hospitality we loved the room and the location within walking distance of many things. The breakfast was very nice we got to meet the other people staying. We would stay there next time we’re in New Orleans
15 minute walk to The Quarter, 7 minutes from Frenchman and 11 min from Studio Be and the Bywater, perfectly situated. The back gardens and pool area are like getting a separate vacation from the Chaos. Room details and cleanliness is that of a 5 star. The morning breakfast is beautifully presented with plenty of fresh options, buying breakfast was never necessary. We had booked 4 nights leaving 2 open for other options, but booked the remaining two here, staying a total of 6 days. We would gladly stay here again, It was even better than expected. We chose room 4, which is on Chartres, so if you do not like occasional car noise driving by, do not use this room, we did not mind it at all. Daily walks down Chartres pas the neutral ground and beautiful wall murals, was a great start to the day. Evening walks home felt safe, we even stopped into the corner neighbourhood bar Friendlies to sit a beer or two. Laid back and relaxed. 2 minutes up around the corner is Alex's bike rentals- great service and close Thank you for the Hospitality. We will highly recommend others to stay here.…
I can't say enough about this place. It's a true Bed & Breakfast, right down the the small & helpful staff. It's clear that this place is loved and cared for. Beautiful setting for a tropical and completely relaxing vacation off the beaten path, yet close to the Quarter. The courtyard with pool, hot tub and bar area are lushly landscaped and very well kept with a pond, fountains and several places to sit with a group or by yourself in peace. Each room is uniquely decorated with old world charm and the beds are VERY comfortable. Continental breakfast is just enough to start your day right with fresh fruit, hot & cold cereals, yogurt and all the right "mix-in's", toast, bagels & excellent coffee. If you prefer something a bit more stick to your ribs later, there is an excellent breakfast place literally steps away that offers a $1 cupcake with any entree purchase. This place is an oasis for the weary traveler or people who can truly appreciate all the love and care it takes to run a such a wonderful place. I will return again and again! Much love and gratitude to Ed, Ben & Jackie. ~Scooter~…
