my husband and i stayed at this hotel in June 2013 and our stay was excellent. We stayed for 4 nights and didn't have a single compliant. Hotel was very clean, the rooms were nice, there is a pool and they have a full free breakfast. Hotel was within walking distance to all three street car lines and within walking...

We stayed just one night as we were leaving next day on Carnival cruise. It was close to everything or at least within walking distance. I recommend using the transit system for an inexpensive way to get around. Hotel personnel were great and very friendly. Room was just fine, clean, neat.

Our first room was very noisy; it was located right beside the alleyway with the rubbish trucks doing their rounds every morning (and very early). I don't enjoy complaining but for our sanity we asked if we could possibly change rooms- it was no problem! We were moved to a gorgeous room overlooking the garden/pool area. It was a lovely...

We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience, and are proud that we have the honor of being your favorite hotel in America! Clearly it is a long trip back, but we hope you get to return to New Orleans again.

We stayed two nights for the Sugar Bowl and the staff was so friendly and helpful! The room was a little small but had a king bed and was comfortable! The hotel had some quirks due to being old buildings that were converted to the hotel configuration but it was nicely done! We are considering a return trip and will...

Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback. We agree that the design team did a great job blending the old world charm of the building with all the modern amenities that we all expect (and then some more in addition) when we travel. Definitely give us a call when you are ready to return, we would love to...

When I heard the name of the hotel my husband booked I was skeptical and not expecting much! But upon entering I was wrong! Great location and great hotel. The desk people were very friendly and helpful. The interior and exterior are impressive and romantic. The lofty high ceilings and plants add to the feeling. The rooms are small, but...

Travelling through New Orleans, last Monday, my daughter and I needed to stop in time to watch the BCS National Championship. We checked Tripadvisor and headed to Country Inn/Magazine St. The lobby was lovely and a small issue at check-in was professionally trouble-shot by fabulous, staff member Tammy. Vickie, our concierge, directed us to the perfect place in which to...

What a wonderful tidbit to hear - We definitely try to go the extra mile to make sure everyone has a great stay, but I will have to pass on an extra pat on the back to the staff for trying so hard to make sure you had a perfect stay. Thanks for taking the time to share. Hopefully you...

Although it is a few blocks from the French Quartet, it was VERY walkable, and in a nicely restored historic building. Every one of the people we dealt with in the hotel was delightful; the breakfast was varied. We all enjoyed our stay very much.

Thanks for taking the time to share your endorsement! We really appreciate hearing that you had a 5 star experience here at the hotel. While we are just outside the French Quarter, we definitely believe we are the best of both worlds - just steps to all the fun, but without all the noise when its time to come back...

This hotel is conveniently located within walking distance to: the French Quarter (Bourbon St.), Harrah’s Casino, the Aquarium of the America’s, and the Canal St. Trolleys. I was impressed with the hotel’s appearance; the valet staff, housekeeping and the check-in staff were very patient and professional while straightening out a booking snafu (which was not their fault). Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
