This is a nice RV park close to the French Quarter. It took us no more that 10 minutes on any day to drive there. This place is nicely maintained. we stayed on the water and my husband was thrilled to be able to fish right at our site. The staff was very friendly. Would stay here again!
Stayed 2 nights. Quiet park except nearby air traffic and railroad. It stopped around 11 pm. Good landscaping makes it very attractive. It is on the River front so nice to see the water and enjoy the morning and evening breeze. They recommend a driver to take the 15 min trek into town. He is friendly and reasonably priced. There is an enclosed dog run, swimming pool, hot tub and restaurant that we didn’t use. The Staff were friendly and helpful. Full hookup with decent water pressure. Didn’t use their internet ( a fee to connect) or cable. Used our own hotspot with good service.
I almost never leave reviews but will make an exception for this place. I depend on Tripadvisor to steer me in the right direction and was surprised this place turned out the way it was. I kept trying to give it the benefit of doubt but this didn't pan out. To call it a "resort" is an overstatement. There wasn't a paved or concreted surface in the whole compound. This means that when it rains you are walking in and tracking in a kind of clay mud and sand mixed with some gravel. There are huge puddles every where after it rains. This means your vehicle has this gray concrete colored mud splashed over the outside and also in the interior. I had to vacuum and hose off my truck at the next campground we went to. We depend on the campgrounds to provide a decent bath house. We have never excreted anything solid into our black tank since we bought it, and want to keep it that way.. That's why we try to find "resorts". Most of them have nice bathroom facilities. Not this place. The bath houses had concrete floors and the showers looked like an after thought. They had fiberglass shower bases and then sort of built a shower over it. One had a steel chair that looked like they took it out of the restaurant there. My wife said that in the women's bathroom, someone had excreted a "blowout" in one of the 2 stalls. It was still there almost a week later when we left. She let management know, but they must not have been concerned. And by the way, THERE IS NO FREE WIFI as advertised. You have to pay extra and it is very deficient and cuts out all the time. The free cable TV was terrible as well. I don't think it would stay on more than 3-4 minutes at a time before cutting out for about a minute or 2. It looked like they had a nice pool and we did not go to the restaurant. The place has potential but it just isn't there yet. The management shows a lack of concern and at times a little rude. My wife was standing in the store waiting while another patron was being helped and the lady minding the store turned to her and informed her she was closing at 5. My wife told her she just needed to ask her a question and I think she did get some help. Maybe this was a better managed place at one time but it really isn't now. I would not recommend this rv park to anyone.…
We loved this RV park along the water. The most amazing part are the views along the River. The staff are helpful and polite. Wide streets and a lot of pull thru sites. It is also pet friendly with a dog park. It’s a quiet park and only 15 minutes to the French quarter of New Orleans.
Stayed here in an extremely tight spot and got stickers in my shoes and dogs feet when I walked. Restaurant/bar was almost empty and bartender unfriendly. Made another reservation for late December this year because I saw there was new management. We made reservations 2.5 months ahead of time to assure a parking spot for our RV. We called back two days after we made the reservation to cancel because we found out how shut down the city is. Because we don’t have the Covid vac we are not allowed in any building in the city! The park gave us a bad time about getting our money back but after husband talked to manager they gave us money back minus $50. Hope they like their $50 because we will never stay there again. Lost future revenue for them!
What a wonderful view, also the staff is awesome, great bar, and thank you for happy hour discounts. Oh, and food is pretty tasty, too. Sunrise is spectacular, and check out the calm water. Thank you for your hospitality, New Orleans RV Resort & Marina staff.
OK, let me start by saying you have to go through a sketchy type place to get here, but it isn't bad. We weren't sure of how this side of town was, and never found out really, so we drove to this site before making a reservation. We decided it looked good enough to stay, as it was close to the downtown action. There was several empty sites, and now that I have been there myself I understand why. We really wanted to stay here because they say they have shuttle service to downtown, but it is currently not running, so don't get your hopes up on that amenity. Sites were pretty narrow and you have to back into most of them. To go along with this the 'main' roads going in between rows are narrow as well so the larger the rig the harder to navigate, especially if you have someone occupying the space directly across from you. Hook ups were OK, except the sewer, it was very far from where it needed to be with how far I had to back in to get off the road. Luckily I had extra hoses to piece together to bridge the gap. I had to use a total of 3 hoses to reach the sewer drain out. Bath houses aren't bad and there is more than one. Bath house in the back only has one room for men, and one for women, so it is more private, but might be harder to get into. Restaurant on site, which is expensive, don't waste your time here. This was the most expensive meal we ate over 8 days and the food was not even local variety, just burgers and chicken tenders. Staff was helpful and polite, which was a plus, but overall worth moving on. On site is nothing but gravel/mud. It had rained so the roads/lots were flooded and full of water. Huge holes all throughout the park, so beware of driving fast.…
We spent 2 nights at a waterfront spot. Got in late at night and was escorted to our spot. That was a bug help. Boys fished in the water in front of RV. The pool was very nice and clean. Friendly workers throughout the park. Glad we stayed there.
We stayed at Ponchartrain Landing RV Park for eight nights while visiting our daughter in New Orleans. We were traveling in our Class A Motorhome. The Landing is right on a canal not far from the shores of Lake Ponchartrain. It's a secure, gated park in an industrial area, but it's quiet, safe and especially nice being right on the water. There's a small restaurant and bar on site that has very, very good food. When one issue developed, the general manager (Joe) was super responsive and made sure things were quickly resolved to our satisfaction. Looking at a map, you might think the park is too far from the action in the Quarter. Not so, it takes less than 15 minutes to get into the French Quarter. We recommend taking Elysisan Fields from near the park. This takes you to Decatur Street and the hub of fabulous live music on Frenchman's Street. We will return to the Landing!…
We stayed here for three nights while visiting the New Orleans area. The campground is very nice and close to everything. The sites are smaller but the person who helped us to our site was so awesome and saw that a palm tree was hitting our slide out which we told him was fine but he came back that evening and trimmed a couple branches. Very nice of him! It's such a cute campground tucked into an area that certainly didn't seem like the place a campground would be in an industrial area with not a great road and lots of discarded furniture along the way. I was glad I read reviews ahead of time that talked about the road and area or we would have thought we were in the wrong place. It took about 15 minutes to get to the French Quarter and other areas we wanted to visit. We did try some appetizers at the restaurant on site but felt they were expensive and not very good. We weren't about to try a meal after that. But I highly recommend this campground if visiting the New Orleans area. …
