The accommodations were perfect! The location was great. We were on New Orleans, half a block off of Bourbon. Hear me out.. it’s loud. The front of the building, street level room was probably louder than the rest. Although everything was so comfortable, the noise didn’t allow for restful sleep. But again, we were in New Orleans and it’s to be expected. That close to Bourbon, people are partying, music is thumping and the trash is picked up everyday. (Thank Goodness) We will be back but we will request something at the back of the building for sure. For the price, the noise is easily overlooked if you are on a budget.
Glad I got a room facing courtyard on the upper floor. Nice and quiet. Considering how close it is to Bourbon I thought it'd be louder. Bed wasn't the highest quality, but not bad. Everything else was pretty good though once you figure out the stupid keypad on the doors. They do work, but they just suck at their job of being keypads. Location is perfect for the price. Wouldn't stay here as family or anyone who's not into nightlife.
Room was very clean and had plenty of room for the two of us. The balcony was nice but was way to hot hot and humid to enjoy during our trip. Codes to get into the building and room were easy use and we felt safe during our stay. You are right off of Bourbon St so it is loud out side every night if your a light sleeper they do provide ear plugs. There is no frig so a small cooler to keep some drinks in is good to bring with you
Customer service was thee worst I’ve ever experienced at and hotel, motel, gas company, or even a scam likely call!! The two different ladies I talked to were NOT helpful at all!! I was locked in the vestibule area unexpectedly and I was trapped inside for 2 plus hours upon arrival there!! Nobody ever came to let me out!! My codes weren’t working, nothing!! Luckily I got out because someone staying there finally came and heard my screaming and beating on the door!! They said they had the same issues!! After that experience I refused to stay there and I walked with all my luggage and bags and found another hotel!!
TV only can mirror what’s on your device. No local channels even. Was terrible to stay 4 days without any tv service. Loved location and proximity to main tourist attractions also room was cool but I won’t stay again.
Unable to get into building when we arrived. We're told we had early check-in then were told it was denied without giving a reason. Were given a room without the beautiful street side balcony we booked.
The exterior keypad to get into the building malfunctions and doesn’t always work.. so keep that in mind when you’re trying to get into the building late at night. The customer service number did not help or even understand what was happening. ALSO there is a lack of safety with the rooms as well. On our last night, around 1am, someone walked into our room while we’re were in bed. The door was locked, so whoever it was was given or knew our pin code to get into the room. As a guest you are assigned a pin upon arrival.. so either they are duplicating pins for guests or an employee was entering our room without permission AT 1AM.. you figure that out. The doors also open out so barricading the door is not possible. I have reached out to several different outlets to make whoever i need to aware of the lack of safety on this property and have had no luck. No one seems to care. DO NOT BOOK WITH SONDER.…
This place is a nightmare. The code to the building didn’t work for three days and I had to call numerous times to get the issue corrected, but only after I threatened to call the fire department because we were locked in at night. There is no one onsite to handle guest problems. Each time I called, they told me someone would call me back or that they issue was resolved but neither was true. Other guests smoked marijuana in their rooms so the smoke came into our room through the AC vent and made the room constantly stink. The walls are crumbling and left debris all over the floor. We had to clean it ourselves because cleaning service is an extra charge. We will never stay in a Sonder again. Too expensive for the experience provided.
We enjoyed our stay and would love to return. The hotel is well over 100 years old and off Bourbon St, and had the expected amount of building quirks and street noise. There is no fridge but we made do by putting our water bottles next to the AC. After reading reviews we did bring spare TP and a small power strip, both came to good use. Access was easy and we felt very secure. The courtyard was lovely. We never figured out the TV but no matter.
Perfect location for all things French Quarter or Frenchman Street! Pro Tip: request a room in the courtyard away from the noise of Bourbon Street revellers. This is a very old building. Expect it to have quirks and well as charms. There is no in-room fridge, as in most modern hotels. Doors may not be square, there may be need of minor repairs but I would absolutely stay here again. Very lovely boutique hotel.
