When we first arrived I was a little hesitant. The hallways are rundown and a lot of the furnishings are in rough shape. That being said, the room was clean and the bed was excellent. The water in the shower was hot. Our sink wasn’t draining but they addresses it ASAP. The staff was super friendly and the breakfast offerings were good. You can’t beat the location. It’s not far to get anywhere.
Stayed at this hotel twice this past fall. Both times the experience was identical and issues that existed before were still present on the last stay. The staff is actually really nice and I think tries to do their best, however execution of requests is really lacking. The valet at this hotel is always behind as the small driveway off the busy street the hotel is one always snakes out into the street. This is really frustrating. They don't seem to have enough valet folks to satisfy the demand. On both stays I repeatedly asked to apply my IHG number to the reservation and both times it was omitted. The elevators are fairly small, but the do work pretty quick. If you have excessive luggage it may be a problem. The hallways are a bit dark and musty, but the rooms are nice and spacious. My only real gripe about the room would be the shower in the bathroom. Both times I stood in at least two inches of water as the drain did not empty very well. My final issue with the hotel is there was only one ice maker working during both stays. They know this is a problem and refuse to fix it, which is extremely frustrating as a guest on the second stay as there was enough time between stays to fix the problem. I shouldn't have to go all the way downstairs to get ice. Surrounding area is a bit sketchy, but what area of New Orleans isn't?…
We had an amazing time at the Indigo, thanks mostly to Donald. Even though he worked in the maintenance section of the hotel, he went above and beyond his job when he alerted us to a potential problem in our room, and got us moved to another room. It was a corner room on the second floor with a balcony along 2 walls!!! It was a perfect close to each day to sit on the balcony with a drink and just people watch! Thanks Donald!
I was excited to book a room at Hotel Indigo New Orleans. I was to be there for 5 nights looking for a small condo in the area to buy. The hotel would be where my family & friends would stay while visiting me. One of my friends even came a couple of days later to help me look and to explore New Orleans. Alas, my first night at the hotel was not a good one. There was a terrible humming sound coming through the walls. I tried to get immediate help but was told I'd have to wait until the morning. Later the manager said she would refund 1/2 of my first night, even though I couldn't get any sleep. 7 weeks later I still haven't received the refund.
I am on night 2 of a 4 night stay here and I am so disappointed in the service. Room is fine...huge bathroom which is great but there is NO front desk staff. We waited 15 minutes for someone to show up to check us in and she was not very welcoming or friendly. The TV remote didn't work so spent about 30 min calling the front desk over and over with no answer. Finally got a new remote and it didn't work either so spent another 30 min (at least) calling and calling again. Never got an answer. Makes me wonder who is coming in the hotel with no one manning the desk. Will probably check out tomorrow and stay elsewhere. I know it's hard to find people to work right now but this is absolutely ridiculous. I recommend finding somewhere else to stay as there are plenty of options in this city!!!…
We just stayed at Hotel Indigo again last Saturday night. I was dreading it, but the reservation was last minute, and Indigo was the cheapest option. I was prepared for the rude and incompetent managers, but what was surprising was the obvious damage to the headboard. The pale blue fabric appeared to have been scratched off, giving the room an especially seedy look. We showed the manager a photo of it upon checking out, and she explained that it was probably because this is a pet friendly hotel. Apparently, people sit in bed and rest their heads on the headboard, and pet dogs chew up the headboard. The maids tried to put the pillows in front of it, but it is clear that the Indigo's standards fall short.
This hotel and management will not respond to me or my insurance company for damage to my vehicle from an attempted theft while in their parking garage. It's been almost a year. This is not a hotel you want to risk putting your vehicle in their care. Poor, poor customer service.
We love the IHG brand so we booked a 7 night stay and were so happy with the accommodations we extended another 4 nights! We had a little trouble our first night and Karin did everything she could to make it right and she DID! The rooms and baths are spacious. Hotel views are lovely. Beds are comfortable. And the BEST fried chicken (trust me!) is available across the street at Brother's. Hotel is walking distance to some great spots on Magazine St. (District Donuts, Aidan Gill, Gris-Gris, Lily's Nails) and the Streetcar is right outside the front door. So glad we discovered Hotel Indigo!
Nice hotel, clean and great location, HOWEVER, they do not have valet parking as their website states. Checked in and was told i had to drive 3 blocks away to a public garage. A bit of a hassle the next morning when i had to drag my roller bag to the garage at 5 am. If you have another person with you to do the car shuffle maybe not such a big deal but was a major bummer for me.
Beds comfortable Location fabulous Downside Computer doesn't work Pet friendly Can not honestly say that the food is great at the restaurant but there are great cafes nearby Streetcar stop just outside
