Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.

Hotel has a garage on premises they charge people $20 in. If you stay here, you can't park there...they make you pay $38 valet and bring your car to parking around the block. Rooms were dirty. You couldn't see the bottom of the pool. Old, worn out, dirty bedding and shower curtain. Spend your hard-earned money elsewhere.

I stayed at this hotel b/c my conference hotel was booked, but I'm glad I stayed here. It was in a nice location where I was close enough to get everywhere but off the beaten busy Bourbon Street path.

I stay at various Hilton properties 5-6 months out of the year all over the country. I have never had an incident like this before. I arrived at this Garden Inn with my wife and 2 babies. First they gave us a room with double beds instead of the asked for king size bed. So my wife and I had to sleep in separate beds. I called in advance to inquire about parking whether it was free or not...I Called at 12:30am the day I made my reservation and I spoke to the woman who answered. She said parking was free. When I get there I am charged 40 plus dollars a day. I would not have booked this hotel had I known the parking was 40.00 a day. The parking across the street from the hotel was 20.00 a day and the other hotels in the area including the one my event was in was 25.00. The supervisor at the front desk tried to tell me maybe I called a different hotel. The event I was going to was around the corner from the hotel so yes I did call the right hotel. In order for me to get a king size suite I would have had to upgrade to a suite. You would think under the circumstances they would automatically upgrade me without charge. It’s not the money. But as a business owner myself it was the point. This desk supervisor refused to accommodate anything. That’s bad business. How much would it have cost the hotel for the upgrade 50.00, 100.00. That would have went a long way towards good customer service. If I didn’t have my babies with me I would of left to another hotel.

My family (husband, daughter and I) stayed during a visit with our son who is attending college in New Orleans. The hotel staff was helpful and courteous. The room was clean, well equipped and comfortable. The location was quiet and close enough to the French Quarter and Jackson Square, so we could walk for dinner and other tourist activities.

The AC didn't work for the first 24hrs and never really cooled down to a comfortable temp during the day. The pool was really small and the water was cloudy (not maintained well). Internet was spotty and kept disconnecting. There was a large nasty looming stain on our desk chair. I wouldn't stay at this location a second time.
