Exceptionally clean, with very warm hosts who provided many more thoughtful touches (ie. earplugs, foot-soothing epsom/eucalyptus bath salts, useful phone numbers and travel brochures, great eating recommendations) than any 5 star hotel would. Relaxing backyard to enjoy the beautiful fall weather, 24-hour snacks in a kitchen that feels like your own with only 4 guest rooms sharing, updated bathroom with...

Halloween is best in the Voodoo capital of the USA. I have stayed at the Cresent City guest house 2 times and it's perfect! 4 separate rooms to pick from, we booked the entire places for 4 couples. It's the only place I'll stay now.

What can I say, everything was just great. Old beautiful house, interesting neighborhood, unbelievably good and friendly service, clean rooms with nice decoration. They really want us to enjoy and we did.

My Daughter and myself were looking for accommodation in the heart of the old part of New Orleans rather than the main area with all the large hotels, and came across the Crescent City Guest House, after some exchange of emails we booked for 3 nights. Matt met us at the front gate and showed us around, you enter into...

Wonderful find - excellent location about two blocks from all the Frenchman's St. has to offer and an easy walk to the French Quarter. Great Marigny neighborhood. The rooms are large and clean. The common area is very comfortable and the refrigerator is well stocked for whatever one might need. Oh, and the price is right. Would stay there again

We absolutely loved our room! So spacious, with everything we could want. The common area was comfortable, the fridge and cupboards were well stocked. Matt and Lynn were great, giving us some suggestions on routes to take to get in and out of the neighborhood, and were available to meet our needs. The guest house was within easy walking distance...

The guest book and online comments bulge with compliments for this Guest House, and with reason. My friend Malcolm and I stayed there for 10 nights in early October. Matt and Lynn were welcoming and helpful hosts. Our rooms had character but also everything one could need. The service was unobtrusive and efficient. The Aunt Pearl notices told guests all...

We stayed at the Crescent City Guest House for 5 nights. It is honestly the best place to stay in NOLA. It is within easy walling distance to Frenchman Street and the night life but far enough away to get a good sleep. The garden is a nice place to relax in the evening before heading out and the air...

I'm at the b&b now. We have been staying here for several years now and Ive resisted writing a review only because I don't like it when it gets full on a bite when we want to stay here. I will say this: if you like staying in the quiet Marigny with every comforting detail taken care of and a...

The Crescent City Guest House has a comfortable cottage like feel to it. The rooms were absolutely spotless and well decorated. Each room was unique and all had thoughtful extras which made the rooms special. For instance, Lynn and Mattt put out St. Patrick's Day beads for us to wear. It is those thoughtful touches, that made it a memorable...

Staying in Faubourg Marigny & Bywater

Neighborhood Profile
Faubourg Marigny & Bywater
Nestled between the French Quarter and the Ninth Ward, the Faubourg Marigny & Bywater environs are largely residential. Of course, folks around here love to go out and have a good time as much as they do anywhere in NOLA. And if out-of-towners want to join in the festivities, well then so much the better! Home to some of the most revered live music venues in New Orleans, an eclectic gaggle of gourmand dining destinations, and a come-as-you-are vibe that’s as infectious as it is alluring, this is real deal New Orleans oozing with southern hospitality and the promise of a most epic night out. For endless opportunities to boogie, to admire row upon row of lovingly restored homes, and to escape the fray of the more touristic parts of town (but still live it up in grand style) head to Faubourg Marigny & Bywater.
