We've been to New Orleans many times and thought that this time we'd try a Bed and Breakfast. The host was very friendly and helpful. We stayed in the Asian Suite which has a beautifully decorated bedroom with a very comfortable bed. The sitting room is bright and cheery. The pull-out sofa is convenient as we had another couple join... More

The stay at the 5 continents B&B was more thann pleasant. We stayed over New Year's which is probably not the best time to spend in New Orleans due to the party crowd and the traditional football game. Nevertheless the accomodation was really nice. With old historic furniture. Peter and Walter, the owners, were very friednly and nice. The breakfast... More

Thanks for writing. It was great to have you here. New Year's Eve and the Sugar Bowl are certainly very busy here in New Orleans. I'm so glad that your family had such a good time in our city and at the Five Continents. I look forward to seeing you all again soon. More

We booked this bed & breakfast as it had some very good ratings. As somebody else commented the location is not ideal and the walk into the centre can feel intimidating. Our room (the European Suite) was large but rather dark and the wifi did not work, although it worked fine in the public ares. Also at $200 per night... More

Thanks for writing. It was very nice to have you all stay with us. As an old historic city, New Orleans is certainly no quiet bucolic place, and I'm sorry that you found the walk to the French Quarter a bit intimidating. I am glad to note, however, that we are on one of the safest streets in the city,... More

I belong to a group of women who get together once a year to chat, drink a few drinks and just hang out together. This year our group had 60 women and we needed a place to be able to accomodate us all for dinners and just hanging out. This house was perfect for us. We decorated the house and... More

Stayed for honeymoon after Hurricane Sandy delayed our arrival. Our host, Peter, was very accommodating, helping us to reschedule and working with us along the way. When other guests cancelled at the last minute due to the storm, we were upgraded to the best room in the house. Breakfast was delicious. His dog is very friendly. The location is within... More

This trip was the first time my wife and I had been to New Orleans, LA. We went on a cruise leaving out of and returning to NOLA and decided we wanted to stay over one night upon returning. My wife found Five Continents B&B and booked us a room online. The owner was very friendly, the room (we stayed... More

My wife and I came to NOLA for our 20th wedding anniversary and stayed at the Five Continents B&B. We stayed in the cottage in the back and had a wonderful time. The entire B&B is just wonderful and Peter the proprietor is very kind and accommodating. The main floor/dining room is just wonderful and very well maintained. The spicy... More

We stayed at Five Continents for three nights in early October, 2012. I chose this B&B because of the cost and the good TA reviews. In the event, we were very satisfied with the experience. We stayed in Asian room, which I understand is the least nice room. Having said that, it exceeded our expectations... a really large and comfortable... More

I stayed here for two nights in mid-July during a quick visit to New Orleans. Very convenient to the French Quarter and most other NO attractions. The house is large and well appointed, with private parking and lots of places to lounge. The rooms are creative, clean, and large. Very comfortable beds, great breakfast, friendly people. And a quiet neighborhood.... More

We stayed there in the Eurasian Suite, two rooms and a bathroom, looks exactly like on the web site pictures. The funny part they have some Egyptian themed pictures there and Egypt is in Africa, not in Eurasia, but who cares. One thing the suite was missing is a good TV. The one in the room was so small -... Management response:

Thanks for writing. You are right about the Eurasian Suite. We've been trying to figure out how to rename it, since it does have mainly Egyptian/Arab/Middle Eastern and African things in it. Not everyone notices this little inconsistancy. Good to have you here and hope to see you again sometime in New Orleans. More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Not your normal Bed and Breakfast. The Five Continents is a reflection of the owners' world travels and life experiences. Both the founding and current owners have lived in or visited five of the seven continents of the world, hence the name. Located just six blocks from the French Quarter down the historic Esplanade and close to the Race Track at the Fairgrounds where the world famous New Orleans Jazz Festival is held, the Five Continents is perfectly situated for a memorable visit to the "Big Easy". A gourmet Breakfast is provided between 8:00 and 10:00 a.m. Guests order from a menu of various freshly cooked specialties. Pets are welcome in the North American Cottage. An important note about parking at the Five Continents.... Our parking area in the courtyard can comfortably accomodate four or five guest cars. The courtyard, driveway, and gate are from the late 19th century. They were designed for horses and carrages. Small and normal-sized cars fit very well. Please be aware that vans, pick-up trucks, larger SUVs, and trailers will likely not fit into the gate or driveway and cannot be accomodated in the parking area. There is, however, ample unrestricted parking on the street for vehicles which do not fit into our courtyard area. ... more   less
