We arrived for our honeymoon trip in New Orleans to conduct a 4 day city trip and Nancy welcomed us with a warm hug and lots of fun. She is a great host, living upstairs with her kid, creating healthy breaktfast each and every morning super fresh! Very nice old shot-gun style house with individual and cosy rooms, own bathroom... This was one of the best travel experiences I've ever had. The owner is so incredibly helpful, and she had tons of recommendations for stuff we should check out during our visit. Very clean, vintage feel, murals on the walls, we had a private patio. Breakfast was always delicious, and the wine/beer in the shared mini bar was very affordable.

M ywife & I had a lovely stay at Auld Sweet Olive. Nancy provided a great atmosphere and was a helpful & great host. The location is great; on a quiet streat, but within a short walk of Frenchmen Street & another 5 minutes from the Quarter. Will stay again on my next visit to NOLA. Highly recommended!

The B&B is very nice and the garden smelling of the fragrance of sweet olives so lovely! The hostess was very friendly and welcoming, giving us suggestions for tours and restaurants, even booking a couple of tours for us. The location turned out to be farther from the French Quarter than I had expected, but there were some good restaurants... More

We felt very at home in this amazing B&B run by Nancy and her staff. Our room was highly comfortable and the breakfast was amazing! What we loved was sitting outside in the garden or on the front patio and talking with Nancy. Would definitively come back here!

Coming all the way from Germany we really enjoyed the stay in your small little cottage. The breakfast in the small patio was the right start every morning for a new exciting day. Thank you very much for the interesting discussions and nice stay, also to your 2 men taking care of the household!

I stayed here with my boyfriend for two nights. Nancy's home is absolutely beautiful and welcoming. It is in a wonderful area and most things we wanted to do were walkable from the house. Nancy is a fabulous host. She upgraded us to a gorgeous room with a King sized bed and our own entry/exit separate from the rest of... More

My boyfriend and I wanted a little get away to New Orleans since we hadn't been and we were told what a great city it is (we weren't disappointed)! We chose to stay at the Auld Sweet Olive based on price, location, and other reviews....and we definitely plan on staying here again when we come back. Nancy, the owner, is... More

My sister and I stayed here for 3 nights in adjoining/connecting rooms, each with its own private bathroom. The property is magnificent - a stately old house, beautifully renovated and decorated, including wall paintings by a theatre artist - the front parlour is just amazing. Our rooms were really comfortable and very clean, breakfast was very good, and our hosts... More

Staying in Faubourg Marigny & Bywater

Neighborhood Profile
Faubourg Marigny & Bywater
Nestled between the French Quarter and the Ninth Ward, the Faubourg Marigny & Bywater environs are largely residential. Of course, folks around here love to go out and have a good time as much as they do anywhere in NOLA. And if out-of-towners want to join in the festivities, well then so much the better! Home to some of the most revered live music venues in New Orleans, an eclectic gaggle of gourmand dining destinations, and a come-as-you-are vibe that’s as infectious as it is alluring, this is real deal New Orleans oozing with southern hospitality and the promise of a most epic night out. For endless opportunities to boogie, to admire row upon row of lovingly restored homes, and to escape the fray of the more touristic parts of town (but still live it up in grand style) head to Faubourg Marigny & Bywater.
