We stayed here for 4 nights and had a great stay. Location is great, we walked everywhere. Highly recommend Frenchman St for the evenings (and afternoons!), great food and music and just a short walk away. Easy walk to the French Quarter. Breakfast here was delicious, Jessica created some great options. Jessica was a great help with recommendations for activities. On street free parking was great. Very comfortable house, would recommend.
We spent three nights the week before Mardis Gras. Good location, clean comfortable room and common areas, delicious breakfast, extremely helpful staff. Walkable to French Quarter, Bywater, and Canal Street. Susan and Chris R.
My sister and I stayed at the Auld Sweet Olive B&B from 2/21/20 to 2/26/20. Our initial arrival was a little bumpy as, upon our arrival at 12-midnight on 2/21/20, the key to the front gate and room wasn’t in the lockbox. However, the wonderful innkeeper, Jessica, quickly responded to the doorbell, and she opened the door for us. The overall feel of the B&B is old school charm with a hint of New Orleans hippie vibes. Please beware, there are no TV(s) in the rooms; but, we didn’t miss the lack of entertainment as I used my phone to watch my streaming services. The daily breakfasts were delicious and Jessica ensured that each breakfast had fresh fruit. My sister couldn’t stop singing Jessica’s praises about the food, and the candy bar in the hallway of the inn. The only downside that occurred during our stay was that a white British guest came to my sister and I to ask us if we were the housekeepers for the inn! It appeared that my sister and I were the only African American guests staying at the inn during the Mardi Gras celebration, but that is simply no excuse to ask such a racially insensitive question during this day and age. However, this one bad apple doesn’t take away from the charm of our visit as the other British guests, and our fellow Americans were quite charming, and they welcomed us with open arms!…
We recently had a three night stay at Auld Bed and Breakfast. The location is about a 15 minute walk to Frenchmen Street - where all the music and restaurants are located. It was about a 20 minute walk to the French Quarter. The house was lovely- our room was The Sweet Olive room-was on the small side but I loved having three sides of natural light. Jessica, the inn keeper, was a delight. Her suggestions on restaurants and sites were great. And breakfasts were delicious - so much so that I asked Jessica to email the recipes - which I had in my inbox even before I got home. No hesitation in recommending Auld Sweet Olive to those who want a great NOLA experience.
We stayed a week at Auld Sweet Olive and really enjoyed our experience. It’s an old 19th century house with tons of charm and all the modern amenities. The decor is tasteful and adds to the overall atmosphere. The location is excellent: smack in the middle of faubourg Marigny and just a short walk from Frenchman Street and the French Quarter beyond. The neighborhood is quiet but feels very safe, even at night. Breakfast was excellent, with amazing variety every day. Jessica and Anna, the two innkeepers, were super sweet and helpful with any information or anything else that we needed. Overall, we really loved staying at Auld Sweet Olive and would most certainly do so again.
