This hotel is perfectly situated for those who aren't interested in being in the heart of the French Quarter but still want to be within a short walking distance from the good times. My only complaint is that the walls are a little thin, so we could hear the people next door - if you're a super light sleeper this...

The rooms were relatively clean and comfortable. for light sleepers there is a noise form either a tramp car or vessel at 0400 in the morning that may awaken you. The hotel breakfast is reasonable although the service is a bit slow so arrive early if you are in a rush.

The Loews is a great hotel chain, and we enjoyed our stay and our room. The staff was extremely attentive and made sure our two kids (1 and 4yro) were comfy during our stay. Our room was spacious and it overlooked the river, so there was plenty of entertainment for our kiddos watching the boats! The location was superb too,...

We were guests here for Thanksgiving and were not prepared for all that was going on in the city! However, we fell in love with the Loews! We walked and ate and shopped and drank our way around for 3 days, and always were so happy to return back to smiling faces and a big welcome back! The Concierge people...

I could not have asked for better service and hospitality from a Hotel food preparation and service group! Meals were delicious. The sleeping room was excellent. One thing that I noticed was that a water went missing from my room and I was not the consumer of the water. I was charged for it even though I explained to the...

I stayed here recently while attending a conference and had been at this hotel about 5 years ago. I got a high room once again, on the 16th floor, and had a very nice room of the city. The room was large with plenty of closet space but only three small drawers for clothing and other things; it also had...

Overall, this stay was exceptional. It was nice to feel taken care of, without the staff being "in your face" all the time. I gave this a 4 for three reasons. First, the elevator stopped on the 13th floor and seemed to get stuck. Fortunately, it was stuck on the floor, so our group could get out. Second, the AV...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
