Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.

I was very pleased with this experience. The hotel is very centrally located in the Warehouse District, which as a neighborhood has a lot more character than I ever expected - plenty of good restaurants and an increasing number of shops. The hotel is also close to the Convention Center, although the Center is so big that walking all the way to my meeting was something I tried only twice and only when the sun was rising or setting. The service was excellent. The rooms are nice but not fancy - what you might expect in a Marriott. I would definitely recommend it to travelers and would stay there again.

It has a nice lobby and friendly staff. The location is very convenient to the French quarter. However, in a wheelchair, I came back to the hotel and find BOTH elevators OUT. I had to use service elevator and my room key did not work. I am not sure what causes both elevators to go out at the same time. I also do not know why ADA rooms seem to be six miles from the elevator bank. I am not sure of a lot of the logic in this hotel design. The elevator situation only got marginally better over the course of stay. Also the room was large and quality was decent but for the price I expected a little more high end. The bathroom was run down and could use a makeover. Tiles had grout missing and broken pieces. Shower head did not stay in an appropriate position and I had to hold it the entire shower. Staff attitude was great though. I probably will think twice about booking again.

Dear ddillard78, Thank you for being our guest. We are truly sorry for the frustrations you encountered with the elevators not functioning at full capacity during your trip. We understand this was inconvenient and we appreciate your patience. Your feedback is invaluable as it allows us to focus our improvement efforts where they are needed and we will certainly discuss this with the appropriate individuals. We agree there are some areas of the hotel beginning to show their age and we will take your feedback into consideration as we plan for the future. We have passed along the issues you encountered with your shower to our engineering team to have them evaluate and resolve these difficulties. We apologize your stay was not the seamless experience we strive to deliver. We hope you will visit again so we can have the opportunity to leave you with a better experience. Best Regards, Michael Rosenberg Director of Room Operations

I'm late in subitting this review, as I stayed here nearly a year ago, but I can't wait to return, so that should tell you something. Whether you're new to NOLA or love NOLA as I much as I do, there's no reason to stay in the noisy, overcrowded Quarter. The city is compact and easy to navigate. The hotel is gorgeous, there are terrific places to eat nearby, and it's an easy walk to a trolley stop, so you can get everywhere easily. The rooftop pool is small but who cares, it's a lovely view and pleasant at the end of the day.

The hotel is kind of weird, it has the appearance of being outdoors, even on the inside. I had a fine stay- people where generally nice but, upon leaving I realized that I left some clothing items hanging in the closest- and when I called the hotel hours later- nothing was found. it took a while for me to get any answers. I was hung up on a few times and staff pretty much refused to pass me through to a manager. When I finally spoke to a manager she said that the chambermaid told her that she checked the closest and it was empty. This is just a straight up lie. I'd mush rather here that my clothes were thrown in the trash than that they mysteriously disappeared. Clearly some of the staff has no regard for guest items so- SAFEGUARD YOUR VALUABLES and make sure you take everything with you and check for your items regularly, Sticky fingers in that hotel- be aware.
