We stayed one night at the Hyatt. The hotel is a short 3-block walk from the Amtrak station, which made it convenient for us. There is also a streetcar stop in front of the hotel. That streetcar only runs every 30 minutes, but we found we could walk to Canal and the river in about 20 minutes so either way... More

The hotel is located in the center of the city just next to the Super Dome. It's far enough away from the crowds of the French Quarter, yet close enough to get to in short time. The hotel has excellent service and is very well kept. It has a good selection of dining on the premises. They have a unique... More

Great location! Good property. Some vegetarian options for hotel based meals. Nice gift shop open late for snacks. Very close to the trolley and bus stops... walking easy to many hot spots. Would recommend for business or pleasure.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.

“Higher floors I'm sure provide a better view if you're on the Superdome side. It's a different kind of modified V shape layout hotel.”
