Our friends were attending a convention in New Orleans and had booked at the Hyatt Regency, so we did, too. This was the most-disappointing hotel experience we've had in our 8 trips over the years to New Orleans. One side of the mattress was worn-out enough that we changed rooms after a sleepless night, only to have the same problem...

If you do not like glass elevators going to high floors and the fact that you cannot program a change of floor into the elevator then stay away from this one. The food and service were great and the staff very friendly. The architecture of the hotel is nothing they can do anything about

Upon checking in, it was discovered that the air conditioner did not work. We were quickly changed into another room. The second room had air condition problems also. Normally, I would have been so mad but everyone at the Hyatt were first class. I would like to thank Dottie, Greg, Carlos, all of the ladies and gentlemen at the front...

A well located hotel - about 2.5km from Bourbon street. In my experience too much knocking on the door by rooms service in the mornings , maybe just me, but continuing to knock and knock until the door is actually open: I tried to explain that i'd prefer knock & wait at least 30 seconds small thing but after ,...

The hotel is a solid place to stay for a business outing, not much personality but about what you expect from a national chain. Upon arrival I upgraded to the deluxe suite, which give you a little more room but unfortunately I had to turn off the AC because it was so loud at night. Luckily I was there during...

I've stayed in this hotel more than any other hotel in New Orleans and I've always had a great stay. This time was no different. Of all the times I stayed here I guess I hadn't stayed in this particular wing. We ended up with a balcony room with a good view of champions square, smoothie king center, and almost...

I attended a conference at this hotel. The service and stay there were great! If I am ever in New Orleans this is the place I would stay. Most of my business partners will agreed with me when I say this hotel has everything a businessman would need to ensure business continuing while out of the office and location. This...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
