The Hyatt Regency is very big, but very confusing and lacking on details. We are here for business, but finished early and went to the Vitascope bar for drinks and to watch the Green Bay vs. Dallas playoff game. Two beers in, they tell my husband they are out of the beer he is drinking. (Miller Lite - really???) The...

We stayed here four nights for a jazz ed convention. It was very nice and enjoyable. We booked a club level room and thus had a lot of food needs met there. We even made dinner there twice during their appetizer time frame. The breakfast was good with hot grits and real oatmeal at all times. The coffee maker was...

I have not been back to US for a long time but my impression in terms of customer service is not good. This hotel has changed my perception. Almost 100% of staff that I met in the past few days during a conference were absolutely fantastic - they are helpful, well trained, empowered, passionate about what they are doing, very...

This was somewhat overpriced hotel, with huge properties but no warmth and direct kind service from its staff to the guests. Several things I noted: 1) It took more than 45 minutes to request amenities such as shaving cream, razor, toothbrush, and toothpaste 2) The concierge and front desk staff tend to just put you on hold and swing you...

We had a great experience at the Hyatt Regency in New Orleans. The hotel is beautiful and clean. The room was quite comfortable, but did get a bit warm at night. There was great, quality food at the restaurants onsite. The staff members were awesome, especially Carla at the front desk.

Attended a convention here so opted to stay within the hotel as well. The add-ons made this a disappointing experience; $18 for continental breakfast, $25 for the breakfast buffet, (and with the exception of individualizing your omelet, nothing over the top here), $15 per night up-grade to a "premium" room for a view that doesn't come as promised with a...

It is worth spending the extra money on the Club Room at the Hyatt Regency New Orleans. The staff is beyond amazing, and the view is spectacular! The food and beverage availability is quite nice as well. While the elevator system and navigating the first four floors takes some getting used to, the hotel is lovely and worth it.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
