My family and I stay here for one night passing through New Orleans. The location was perfect and the room and hotel in general were very nice, clean and quiet. One thing though if you drive; arriving and departing from the hotel can be a bit tricky given the traffic congestion and limited loading/unloading space. Valet parking is about your... More

Pretty much the best location possible. Canal and Bourbon. Easy access to everything in the french quarter and out. Rooms are a little on the small side, but the beds are nice. CVS across canal for anything you might have forgotten. St Charles trolley stop across the street. Our room was weirdly cold though. Cold snap there and don't know... More

If you are not scared to stay on the 13th floor in room 1313 then you are in for a treat - this hotel is clean and you can tell as soon as you walk in the room. The Astor is BEAUTIFUL, it has that New Orleans charm but with Class;) From the moment you arrive you are greeted by... More

We did not rent a car and am glad we didn't. This hotel really met all our needs. The room was clean and comfortable and we could see the main street outside our window. Since I am an IHG member, the perk of the free internet was included during our stay. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. It was... More

Deanna Frallic is an exemplary employee who made sure we were well taken care of. She deserves a promotion!!! The rooms were clean and well laid out. The lobby was beautifully decorated and very pleasing. Location was fantastic.

The last hotel where I had this much trouble getting toilet paper was in Chiang Mai, Thailand, and I was paying the equivalent of $19 U.S. a night. Crowne Plaza was charging me that much just to use their unreliable wifi service. We saw the housekeeper on the third or fourth day of our stay and asked her to change... More

As a group of six with three rooms our faults were many and varied. We were on the fifth floor. Toilet didn't work, safe deposit didn't work, phone to reception didn't work, hair dryer didn't work, 20 bucks a day for wi=fi ? I don't think so. These people need to get a grip when charging £100 per day if... More

I'm a Platinum Elite member and this place was extremely disappointing. See my pictures of our room. Each speaks a thousand words. Food crumbs and hair on the bed and what looked like blood smeared on the draperies. Rust on the shower fixtures and mold in the tub/ shower grout lines. The front entrance is plagued with vagrants. A front... More

As the three reviews below state in various ways this hotel lacks the credit to call it self a 4 star and I am surprised that Crowne Plaza accept this hotel under its brand when it offers very little of what is expected. We had room 1402 on the 14th [top] floor, the room was located over the entrance facing... More

Our first room smelled bad. It also had an adjoining room and after reading reviews I knew that it would be loud. So we moved to a second room in the older side and it also smelled bad. We went back down and finally agreed to have maid service come back. They also sent a supervisor who came in and... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
