Wanted to eat foods and visit places we had not been back to in years. The Astor Crowne Plaza was a really nice hotel. Great location. Staff very helpful. Rooms very clean. We were able to walk to everywhere. Also watched an early Mardi Gras parade that passed right in front of hotel.

Came here for Mardi Gras. The room was spacious and very clean. MOST of the staff was friendly. We booked this place because of the balcony overlooking canal st so we could watch the parades. Little did we know it was "reserved" the entire time we were there. When we went to go throw beads off the side balcony Saturday...

Very disappointed in this hotel. I'm a platinum member and they stuck me in what seems like a broom closet with the worst view ever. The hotel is on Bourbon street and they give me this crappy view and tell me I can't even go out on the balcony. It's safe to say I will never stay at this hotel...

We rang in New Year's in NOLA. We stayed at the Crown Plaza and loved the convenient location. We could walk to Bourbon street, the Garden District and Frenchmen Street. Our room overlooked Bourbon so we had late nights and early mornings! A midday nap was necessary. The restaraunt is AMAZING and the frozen bourbon concoction is fabulous!

Great place to stay except that parking was limited and very expensive. We purchased this stay for a short stay following a cruise, but did not know at the time that we would be in the heart of the French Quarter during Mardi Gras. If you want to be in the thick of things, this place is for you.

Hotel room was clean. The experience here was great. We will definitely be back to stay here. It was close and convenient to everything. Bar and restaurant down stairs was fabulous. Definitely a hotel to re-visit.

This hotel was once lovely but is now showing its age. Our room was clean but looked dirty because of age. Our Bathroom smelled as though it needed a disinfect cleaning. The hotel entry really needed to be accentuated. We didn't even know it was there.

I visited NOLA to celebrate my 30th birthday and we made a great choice by booking this hotel. The hotel is very nice with a kind gentleman in the lobby who was friendly and helped us store our luggage until check in time. At the time of check in, the lady at the counter went above and beyond by upgrading...

Nice hotel. Clean too, considering how dirty it can be downtown. Very close to the action on burbon street. Security measures were in place at night, so you felt safe going in and out of the hotel. Conference rooms were nice as well.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
