Continues to be charming and wonderful. Old World charm, and the staff are always friendly and helpful. Rooms are always clean and comfortable. Food and drink in the bar/cafe are excellent. A great place to stay in the quiet part of the quarter. The wi-fi in the rooms is spotty, but was great in the lobby, bar/cafe and front porch... More

A good comfortable hotel with rustic charm and some history. The hotel is located a short walking distance from the hustle and bustle of Bourbon Street and easy walking distance to the Mississippi River and day markets and shops. There were ample restaurants and bars nearby. The hotel had a good friendly bar. During the hotel's 'hey day', a number... More

From the check in at the front desk to the check out, the whole stay has been fantastic. A very friendly staff welcome you and assist you when you need it . Yes, it is an older hotel. But this is where you want to stay in " Le Vieux Carre ". Our room on the first floor was very... More

My college-age daughter and I spent two nights at Le Richelieu in August 2016. This older, elegant hotel suited our needs perfectly and economically. Located at the edge of the French Quarter, we were close to everything and yet evenings were quiet. I enjoyed a dip in the small outdoor pool at the end of a sweltering day. Hotel staff... More

Our favorite place to stay in NOLA! Small, quaint, excellent service and staff. Excellent breakfast and lunch. Small courtyard pool. Not for those who want new, big, modern. Located in a quieter part of the Quarter and walking distance to all that matters. We don't stay anywhere else.

Le Richelieu is a nice 3 star hotel in a quiet part of the French Quarter. It is really close to lots of nice restaurants and bars, but being away from the madness of Bourbon Street is a great plus point. The room was absolutely fine, but the decor is a little bit dated. The bathroom was clean and tidy.

I love this area of the quarter - quiet, but close to Frenchman street where all the best music is. The staff are incredibly helpful and really work to make sure you are happy with your stay. The front desk has great local picks advice too....:)

Went with family and loved this quiet, friendly hotel. The location is quieter and away from hustle bustle in the quarter and yet very close (a couple of blocks)to Frenchman Street jazz clubs in Marigny. Also close to French Market. My daughter and I walked about everywhere and felt very safe. Parking is a gated lot and you can get a... More

I was probably expecting much more due to the high ratings that the hotel received but since I had little interaction with the hotel staff, I probably didn't get the great treatment that those who dealt with the staff got. Having been to New Orleans many times before, i didn't need any suggestions or tourist information. Still, the room was... More

The hotel was perfectly located for roaming around the French Quarter and just two blocks from Bourbon Street festivities. Off-street parking was gated. The staff were always available and extremely helpful, providing "insider" tips on places to try when we wanted some off the beaten path ideas. I would recommend Le Richelieu to anyone visiting the Big Easy!

Staying in French Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
