Went with family and loved this quiet, friendly hotel. The location is quieter and away from hustle bustle in the quarter and yet very close (a couple of blocks)to Frenchman Street jazz clubs in Marigny. Also close to French Market. My daughter and I walked about everywhere and felt very safe. Parking is a gated lot and you can get a... More

I was probably expecting much more due to the high ratings that the hotel received but since I had little interaction with the hotel staff, I probably didn't get the great treatment that those who dealt with the staff got. Having been to New Orleans many times before, i didn't need any suggestions or tourist information. Still, the room was... More

The hotel was perfectly located for roaming around the French Quarter and just two blocks from Bourbon Street festivities. Off-street parking was gated. The staff were always available and extremely helpful, providing "insider" tips on places to try when we wanted some off the beaten path ideas. I would recommend Le Richelieu to anyone visiting the Big Easy!

We celebrated six years in The Honeymoon Suite! From the private, gated parking opportunity, to the courteous front desk staff to the sunset from our balcony....couldn't ask for more! The courtyard pool is the place to submerge yourself on the hot, muggy, New Orleans heat! Personal, friendly staff! Nice to be away from Bourbon Street noise, but close enough to... More

The hotel is very well located. Staff at the lobby was ok but staff at the bar was very friendly. The pool is very nice and I strongly recommend to be there and have drinks in the pool during happy hour! The pool is best of the hotel and very nice to have after a long day visiting NO. The... More

My husband just returned from an anniversary trip to New Orleans and stayed at Le Richelieu. We booked their Sizzling Summer package which included a free night, 2 breakfasts, 2 cocktails, and reduced price parking. Our room was on the fourth (top) floor and I was concerned that it would be hot in the summer. It was delightfully cool! The... More

Very "French Quarterish" hotel located within walking distance of all quarter sites. Private gated parking lot is a plus. Old but clean and charming. Even uses real door keys still instead of the magnetic strip cards. A little pricey but everything is in the quarter. Good safe home base for exploring old town.

I do not think that this hotel was a 4.3 rating. First of all, I have a dog phobia and as tired as I was after a long day of traveling, I was met with dogs in the lobby ( I guess they the owner's dogs) during the check in. Not cool. Asked for the dogs to not come near... More

Great experience!! Will definitely be our 'place to stay' when we visit New Orleans again! Couldn't ask for a better experience....front desk, our server, Jennifer, great breakfast...best Frittata we've ever had...comfortable bed, great little balcony, on and on and on! Best of all was the quietness! Enjoyed the Atrium and bar. Walking distance to Frenchman St., and the shops and... More

We spent 3 nights at Le Richelieu while visiting New Orleans. It is located on the edge of the French Quarter and is not far from the French Market and Café Du Monde. Our room was very nice with a really comfortable bed, convenient location in the hotel, quiet, and cool (by using the air conditioner). Front desk staff were... More

Staying in French Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
