I am very happy to have found this hotel in the French Quarter. It is two blocks away from the French Market and two blocks away from Bourbon Street. As a female traveler, I felt ver safe in this neighborhood. The room was spacious and clean.

Le Richelieu offered a good price and an awesome combo of old NOLA and 70's vibe in a perfect location - Fremchman St, Riverfront, the Quarter, streetcar to anywhere else you want, in that order. Desk and bar staff were kind and helpful. I loved the old school metal key and do not disturb signs and the bar and pool... More

Great custmer service, clean rooms, parking even though you p ay a daily rate was convenient and safe. My only problem the wireless did not work properly. The internet either when in and out or no internet at all. Overall, a great place we would reurn.

The location is ideal. Quiet and yet close to all the action. The staff was friendly, the room clean and comfortable. We loved the restaurant for breakfast. The bar and pool area provided an oasis when we wanted to relax.

This hotel is right on the edge of the French Quarter. It is an easy walk to Bourbon Street and all that if you want but is far enough away that there is no noise. We picked it because it is only three blocks to Frenchmen Street where you can hear the best music in the city. I gave the... More

So enjoyed our stay here! Very charming, clean, quiet, walking distance to most everything! Loved the balcony, beds were comfortable, the ambiance was perfect for the French Quarter! The staff were great, with the exception of the front desk clerk.Definitely plan to stay here again! Loved the fact that someone like Paul McCartney stayed here, yet they made everyone feel... More

This is a true gem to stay at. My cousin and I found this place to surpass our expectations. Our room was comfortable, clean and quiet. All of our requests were fulfilled. The staff were amazing, knowledgeable, warm, funny and sweet. The salt water pool was truly a fun and great place to cool down and meet fellow travellers. The... More

We picked this hotel for its location at the east end of the French quarter and relatively low cost. It's just a few blocks away from Frenchmen street where we spent our late nights listening to music. Parking is convenient, just behind the hotel, so access was perfect for this outing. This end of the quarter is less crowded but... More

Continues to be charming and wonderful. Old World charm, and the staff are always friendly and helpful. Rooms are always clean and comfortable. Food and drink in the bar/cafe are excellent. A great place to stay in the quiet part of the quarter. The wi-fi in the rooms is spotty, but was great in the lobby, bar/cafe and front porch... More

A good comfortable hotel with rustic charm and some history. The hotel is located a short walking distance from the hustle and bustle of Bourbon Street and easy walking distance to the Mississippi River and day markets and shops. There were ample restaurants and bars nearby. The hotel had a good friendly bar. During the hotel's 'hey day', a number... More

Staying in French Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
