BED BUGS/SOILED MATTRESS!!! I had woke up with itchy bite mark on my thighs and told the front desk. We went up to check the bed but I was asked to leave as the maintenance guy took off the bedsheets to investigate the issue. It was clear why I was asked to leave because underneath the multiple layers of bedsheet they used it to hide a soiled mattress. It was old, stained brown, bodily fluids. I was horrified and angry by this point and I ask for a different room. The front desk then gives me a room that hasn't been cleaned. This made me even more upset so I just wanted a full refund and no longer wanted to be at the hotel. They would not give me a refund and told me they would call the police on me if I didn't leave. On top of that the maintenance man argued with me for taking the sheets off. This was the worst experience at a hotel ever. I still have these rash on my thighs from sleeping on a soiled mattress. Who know what kind of diseases could have transmit to me so I am going to see my doctor today to get checked out. I urge customers to not stay at this filthy hotel and to always check your mattress before you sleep.…
There was no room service, no appliances in the room except for the coffee maker and it was dirty. Key cards kept freezing, telephone in the room was not working so we had to keep going downstairs when we needed something. We had to keep asking for towels and the receptionist was rude.
No one came to clean the room, change the towels, or take out the trash during our entire stay and we were there for four nights. Receptionist has to let you into the building and we were locked out in the rain for a while because no one was at the front desk. Hotel is in a really great location though and is walking distance from a lot of things including bourbon street.
Recently spent 8 days at the Royal St. Charles for Mardi Gras. I can only report great things about my visit. From the time you check-in to the time you leave. the staff at the front desk is fantastic. They are very personable and are on top of all situations. Cierra, Kadeem, Keianna, Kristelle, Jim along with front desk manager Da'shana are first rate. The hotel is located in a great location. Right on the parade route and only feet from Canal Street and the French Quarter. The hotel is immaculate. The room was extremely clean when I arrived and was refreshed daily by the cleaning staff. Thanks Royal St. Charles Hotel and fantastic staff for making an 8 day stay memorable. Hang in there with all that is happening in New Orleans today. The city and it's residents are tough and resilient and better days are ahead.…
This is the first time a made a bad review of a place. But this hotel have a very unacceptable front desk service. Two woman’s on the front desk was very arrogant and give me a terrible service. I have 4 rooms booked and they were mad, because? I don’t know. The rooms are ok, the cleaning service was good. A man at nigh on front desk was friendly. The hotel have a great location, near Canal Street and Boubon St. At the check out .... surprise!!! they charge more things, son I pay $240 (4 rooms) more for that surprise charges and again bad service. I really have a bad experience on the Hotel.
We go to New Orleans once a year. This is our go to hotel. The rooms are clean, coffee shop downstairs is convenient, and great location. It seems to be one of the more moderately priced. Plus, you get a free beer upon check-in.
We stayed here for 4 nights. Room was small but it worked. No refrigerator or microwave, did have a small coffee pot. Housecleaning left our door ajar on 2 occasions. They also have a $14.95 amenities charge, not sure what that's for. The manager did refund these charges when I complained about the room door being left open. Upon checking, you do get 2 tickets for a free 12oz draft beer at the registration desk. They also have valet parking, $14.95 per night. There is concierge in the lobby to book different tours for you, also a PJ's coffee shop. No hotel restaurant. The St Charles St trolley does stop out front and you're 1 block away from the Canal St trolley.
This hotel was so bad we checked out 20 mins after arriving. Our room was tiny. It was grubby and damp. The bed was very small. There absolutely no sound proofing what so ever. We did not find anything positive about this hotel. I would avoid this hotel at all costs
The hotel is located just 1 block from the French Quarter and within easy walking distance of other New Orleans attractions, such as Mississippi Riverboat cruises and the World War II Museum. The staff at the hotel were all very accommodating. We didn't spend much time in the room except to sleep, but found it to be very quiet. We tend to travel fairly light, and felt the amenities in the room met all of our needs. Though not super sized, the unit contained a dresser and large closet that allowed adequate storage for clothes, so we weren't tripping over things as we walked around. The bathroom contained shelves that were ample for keeping our toiletries. Towels were changed daily. We definitely would stay here again.
Hotel in a great location just a short walk to Canal and Bourbon Street. St. Charles trolley has a stop on corner by hotel. Hotel staff to great care of us upon arrival-during stay- and during checkout.
