New Orleans prides itself on the shabby chic element of its existence. However, if you've been there, you probably know that much of the place is just shabby. Olde Town Inn is one of those. Don't get me wrong, the room we stayed in was really cool. It was an old town home that had three beds, a kitchen, and... More

Clean room with comfortable bed. Breakfast was typical hotel fare. I really enjoyed the cinnamon rolls. Close to Frenchman Street. Within walking distance of the French Quarter. This area seems to be up and coming. Enjoyed talking with the hotel staff.

This hotel is conveniently located at N Rampart Street and is very close to Frenchman street, French quarter and river walkway. Since parking shall be an issue in French quarter zone it is good to have a hotel in closest proximity that is not burning your pocket. Poor response and weird solutions from staff over my concerns has lead me... More

This hotel is located within walking distance of Frenchman, which is nice. That is the only thing that's nice about the Olde Town Inn. We booked what was described as a "deluxe suite." What we got was a narrow, railroad flat with 8 beds and a dirty couch. Most of the beds looked like they had not been changed in... More

This was an old fashioned style hotel, rooms a little small, but comfortable. No coffee making facilities, but available in the foyer 24hours. The bedding was threadbare and had tears in the sheet, I asked for a replacement, which was willingly done. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was fine, but a carbohydrate overload! The location was brilliant! Could walk... More

I really liked this hotel! It's picturesque (New Orleans old and charming style), very well located because it's just a 10 minutes walk to the French Quarter and Frenchmen Street, which is way better than Bourbon Street. It's located in a safe neighborhood in my opinion. I was walking around with my husband after midnight and we had no problems!... More

Normally we stay right in the Quarter but decided to give this hotel a try because of a local's recommendation. He said, "This is the real New Orleans" and he was absolutely right. We had a nice-sized room with window plus window in door (we noticed some rooms did not have these). Staff was extremely friendly and helpful; room was... More

This B&B is located in a quiet suburb with shops nearby. Rooms lead off a narrow courtyard which can be noisy at times. Staff a bit sloppy and my room was left visibly open by a cleaner and the key to room next door was left in my room. Breakfast a bit hit and miss with limited choice is served... More

This review is for room 31 that is above the reception desk on the 2nd floor. The room was almost like a little apartment. The remainder of the hotel rooms (more hotel style then what we stayed at) were downstairs around the corner where the breakfast area was. We did not stay in the main hotel.... As you go up... More

Staying in Faubourg Marigny & Bywater

Neighborhood Profile
Faubourg Marigny & Bywater
Nestled between the French Quarter and the Ninth Ward, the Faubourg Marigny & Bywater environs are largely residential. Of course, folks around here love to go out and have a good time as much as they do anywhere in NOLA. And if out-of-towners want to join in the festivities, well then so much the better! Home to some of the most revered live music venues in New Orleans, an eclectic gaggle of gourmand dining destinations, and a come-as-you-are vibe that’s as infectious as it is alluring, this is real deal New Orleans oozing with southern hospitality and the promise of a most epic night out. For endless opportunities to boogie, to admire row upon row of lovingly restored homes, and to escape the fray of the more touristic parts of town (but still live it up in grand style) head to Faubourg Marigny & Bywater.
