10 colleagues attended the American Clean Power conference at the ENMCC and experienced serious issues with security and theft. 2 colleagues had unknown persons walk into their locked rooms WHILE THEY WERE IN THE ROOMS! Someone had card access and just walked in, apparently not knowing anyone was there. They quickly exited without comment when they realized rooms were occupied. Another colleague had her purse, wallet and jewelry stolen from the locked room while she was having breakfast. When these 3 issues were reported to front desk, they were dismissive of the allegations and defensive. Reporting incident to police was equally unhelpful. This hotel is NOT SAFE and I would not recommend anyone stay here. 30% of our group was affected in just 2 days!

Primary selection of this hotel was based on location (close to the WWII Museum, streetcar line) and price. The Higgins Hotel which is affiliated with the museum was almost twice the cost of the Holiday Inn. Small room and loud air conditioning. Breakfast was terrible the first day but acceptable on other days. First time I had ever seen and automatic pancake machine and it was pretty good. Neighborhood was a little sketchy but I never had a problem on my morning walks or night time cigar strolls.

My wife and I booked this property for four nights in mid-April 2023 using Hot-wire. The cost with taxes etc. was a not-insignificant $USF840.28. New Orleans is an expensive town ! We arrived by taxi from the airport so parking security and cost were not issues for us. We had a 5th floor room overlooking the Tivoli Circle and right across the hall from the elevator shaft – neither of which was an issue . We could hear the streetcars turning through the Circle below but it wasn’t so loud to be annoying to us). We liked the view of the Circle and woke up every morning to see several homeless guys who apparently made their home at various spots around the base and decapitated column of the former Robert E. Lee monument also waking up. Our room was small but it was satisfactory and had everything we needed – flat screen TV with good programming selections, fridge, microwave, and iron. The room was very clean and the bed was actually more comfortable than our bed at home. Housekeeping came in every day and tided up. Staff were friendly and helpful at all times and on all days. Just as many other reviewers have stated, the breakfast room was nice– spacious with lots of seating and a good selection of hot and cold breakfast foods. Some renovation work was in progress during our stay but none of it was a real inconvenience. I though the adjacent “Warehouse District” to be rather sterile. Scattered restaurants in the immediate neighbourhood seemed to be the high-priced kind of places. One night we just got takeout food at nearby Rouse’s Market – a deli supermarket. We found the Holiday Inn Express – St. Charles to be a long (1 km.) walk to and from the French Quarter – we played ourselves out on the first day until we familiarised ourselves with the St. Charles street car line – the closest stop being conveniently located just across the Tivoli Circle from the hotel. Difficulties with hot water availability have been previously reported by other reviewers. Management has acknowledged it but so far hasn’t seemed to have successfully dealt with the issue. During our time we were able to take warm showers almost all the time but there were one or two occasions when water warm enough for showering just wasn’t available ! On the whole, I found the property acceptable and reasonable value-for-money in New Orleans. I’d go back there again. My wife feels that hot water in the bathroom is a necessity and would prefer to look for another place to stay for any future trips.

The location of this property is very good, but that's where the positive notes end. Our room faced Harmony Circle. This provided nice views, but, even on the 6th floor, there was traffic noise, especially from streetcars. Also, the HVAC was unable to keep the room at a comfortable temperature in the afternoon, when the sun was shining on this side of the building. The room was cramped- specifically, the desk was a very thin sliver, just barely able to accommodate my laptop. The desk had to be that thin to allow enough space between the end of the king bed and the desk. Breakfast was variable- during our first three days there was no yogurt, but yogurt magically appeared that last morning of our stay. The pancake machine was a nice touch, but after I used it once it failed and was not repaired for another day. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful, until our last day. I remind the front desk that we hd requested and were ranted late checkout (noon vs. 11 AM), We were told that housekeeping would be reminded, but they knocked at our door just after 11 anyway! Also when we returned from our morning walk, few minutes before 11, we were locked out of our room; I suspect the clock for the electronic key system was mis-set. Overall, I cannot recommend this property and I will never stay here again.

Worst holiday inn I have ever stayed. First, worst front desk! Spend almost 10 mins to finish my check in and looks like not familiar with the business. Second, no hotel affiliated parking lot or garage.there is a seperate independent local meter parking lot at back yard but charge insanely. 38 bucks for only 14 hrs and up more if you stay longer, jesus, even Manhattan garage charges upmost around 40 bucks for 24 hrs. Third, environment not very clean in the hotel and smells weird. I will never come to this holiday inn again! I really love holiday inn but this one is the exception!

I asked for a room in a quieter area, and was a little annoyed when I saw that my room was between the elevator and the ice machine. However, it was on a higher floor so I had all the peace and quiet I wanted, once I returned from the parades rolling that weekend. There was some construction on my floor but nothing to impact my stay. The room was adequate for me. It was clean and had no bugs or other critters. The TV had to be reset every time I turned it on.( not so bad once you knew how). Shower pressure and temp was good. Breakfast had a decent variety of hot and cold choices. The best thing about this hotel is the location. It is next to the Ogden Museum of Southern Art and Confederate Memorial Hall Museum, and about a block to the WWII Museum. Many good restaurants to choose from, too. The streetcar stops are short blocks away. I enjoyed walking to the FQ and Marigny during the days and riding the streetcar at night. I did not feel particularly unsafe walking back to the hotel, but it’s always wise to be aware of the surroundings, especially when traveling alone. The hotel staff was always present; however, if they left the desk at night, the front door would lock and you needed your room key card to get in. I was satisfied with my experience and would book there again.

The room was clean, the staff were nice, the hallways and elevator were not very clean. The chairs in the dining area were not very clean but the breakfast was delicious! Served at 7AM, would have been nice to be served a little earlier.

This hotel is only a block or so away from the WWII museum, which was our main reason for being there. It is located pretty much midway between the French Quarter & Garden District, about a 20-25 walk either way. Restaurants are near enough to walk to. The staff was friendly & helpful, and the provided breakfast was very good. We only had a couple of complaints. Our room was on the first floor with windows that faced the street and a little patio area. Consequently, traffic noise was noticeable. At about 4am one morning, 2 people in the patio area outside our window started yelling at each other for a while which was disconcerting. Our second complaint was that the room wasn't as clean as most Holiday Inn Expresses are. The shower floor was very dirty. The room was smaller than we've seen, but we're not large people, so it wasn't a big deal. If I were returning to New Orleans, I would definitely consider staying at this hotel again, but I wouldn't stay on the first floor. The price for our stay was comparable to other HIX we've stayed at, so it was a good value.

My husband & I stayed in this hotel for 6 nights over the New Year. Lets just say it was an average hotel & we've stayed in a lot better & nicer. The room was just ok. Not much space at all. There was probably only 7-8' feet on the one side of our king bed & that's about all the space there was. Another thing, we had NO hot water to shower with while we were there. Just warm water is all. The faucet water got extremely hot, but not the shower. We complained to the front office & they sent the engineer up to our room. He told us how to run the water in the faucet first to get the hot water going & how to put the handle in the shower so it would get hotter. IT NEVER DID.........so disappointing!! Don't think I would stay here again

My wife and I went to New Orleans, where I was supposed to attend a conference that was cancelled last minute. First were ar the Hilton Riverside which was terrible and not work the price. So we moved to the Holiday Inn Express, St. Charles. Nice, clean. reasonable price. Right on the Street Car route. Room was small but nice and had everything we needed. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Just a short walk from the World War II museum. About 15-20 minutes from Canal Street. Big parking lot. Morning Coffee was good! The staff was able to schedule us a taxi for 4:30 AM so we could catch and early flight home. A pleasant place. Would stay there again.
