You have to be good and drunk to enjoy a stay at this hotel! I gave it 1 star rating only because I couldn’t give it a half of a star! This place needs to be torn down! The best part of staying here - was checking out! The hotel is in a seedy section of town. The lobby stinks! The key cards had to constantly be reactivated. The room was filthy and although a non-smoking one, the room smelled of smoke. There were even sections of the toilet seat that were burned from a previous visitor. The bathtub had bar soap that was left from a previous visit. Something that looked to be blood was on one wall. There was unfinished painting. The ceiling had water spots and there was cobwebs in certain corners of the room. One of the beds squeaked and the room was nothing as pictured on the Choice Hotels app. The view from my room was the backside of a rusty old building. This kind of made me feel like I was part of a scene from a horror story. Turn back!!!

I checked in at the front desk and walked to the room and upon opening the door the smell of cigarette and weed hit me immediately! We didn't event bother to take our bags out of the car. My wife and I went back to the front desk and explained the state of the room. We were given a new room on the second floor and while smoking smell was not as strong in this room. It was VERY clear that weed and cigarette smell is everywhere on this property. After 5 mins in this room my wife absolutely refused to stay even 1 night in the room especially after seeing the stained toilet seat. We packed our stuff and requested a refund and left the hotel.. 2 hours later I had to contact my bank because Econolodge had 3 charges on my credit card which totaled over $800 when the initial booking fee was $360. I disputed the charges with my bank and got my money back... NEVER STAY HERE... Dont do it to your self ... This is place seems like a hood hang out motel Less than 2 mins down the road is a VERY VERY CLEAN and well maintained SUPER 8 hotel that has the new Orleans french decor.. Not only did i pay less but i would gladly pay a higher price .

The room was dusty, appeared to be in a bad area. Lady at the front desk was rude, she stayed on the phone while I was trying to check in. I noticed a few roaches later that night. That was it for me.

I had read a lot of terrible reviews for this place but we stayed there and it was fine! The room was clean, they included a continental breakfast, it was very quiet at night while we were sleeping and the area was fine too. It had a lot of fast food places around and kind of an industrial area and there is a public bus a few steps away that takes you to the French quarter in 15 minutes! So I would give it a good review. The only problem was we wanted a non-smoking room but obviously someone had smoked in it. I think a lot of people disregard the rules.
