Stayed in a Queen Suite on the 3rd floor. Although there was some traffic noise it was not enough to keep me awake at night. This hotel is in a good location for both the French Quarter and the Museum district. Staff were also very good and they always tried to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Overall I...

Room was very nice, large, clean, A/C worked well, bed was comfortable. It was a bit noisy when the street car went by and our door lock didn't work. We had to get a staff member to let us in every time. Staff was great, we would stay there again and recommend.

This is the second time I've stayed at this hotel and I've enjoyed both times. The friendliness and professional way they treat you is great. They are knowledgeable about the city and things to do. They are also central to almost everything. Its a short walk to Riverwalk, Bourbon, The Quarter, museums and casino. Its also easy access to and...

The Whitney is a boutique hotel on Poydras St. near lots of activities. It is in an ideal location because one can quickly drive out without much major traffic and go to the French Quarter, uptown, Metairie, the WWII museum, or wherever you please. The decor is stunning in the lobby because this is a grand old bank with brass...

Rates were good, but rooms are old and outdated. No mini fridge in room, and very few outlets. Location is pretty good with a quick walk to the French quarter. Some restaurants nearby. Poor water pressure in shower and faucet.

Room was great and roomy. Staff was helpful. Highly recommend. It was so neat to tour the historic old building. The Bellman went above and beyond to help us with anything we needed. The staff at the front desk answered any questions we had. The Trolley comes within about a block and you can travel all around the city on...

I stayed at New Orleans to attend conference. Although I visited America first time, kindly staff made me happy. Check-in and out, cleanliness of room, and so on, all corresponding are gracious so I was thankful for all staffs of this hotel. Therefore, I wanted to stay again if I go to New Orleans.

I stayed at The Whitney hotel for several days. Rooms are cozy and clean. Staff is friendly and helpful. The hotel is located several minutes walk from French Quarters, and 15 minutes walk from Convention Center.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
