We had a great stay at the Whitney. Hotel staff we very friendly and very accommodating to anything we would need, . The dining area is very unique and the staff are very friendly. It was our first visit and the staff were so kind to tell us where good places to visit or eat were.

courteous staff, and location is near the French Quarter. Not the most modern hotel in the area, but rooms are clean and service is very good. The bar is fully stocked, breakfast is ample, and they provide parking by valet.

the Whitney is a great place to stay when in New Orleans. Centrally located in the Central Business District, means great restaurants and restaurants and the French Quarter only a few blocks away. wouldn't stay anywhere else in NOLA

I had never stayed here before, it was a last minute deal. It was a good stay overall. Building is right by Poydras, my room facing street was not as quiet - but it is Mardi Gras and it was a Saturday night. I did not expect quiet.

The Whitney is a wonderful hotel close enough to the French Quarter that walking is no issue while being far enough that there are no noise problems. The staff is so friendly. My only gripe is the pillows are small and unsupportive. But that could just be a preference thing.

The Whitney is my favorite hotel in the city!!! It is centrally located and it's easy to access restaurants & the French Quarter with a short walk or a cab ride. The rooms are clean with comfortable bedding. But the most important asset this hotel has is the staff! All staff members go above & beyond to make your stay...

Based on other positive TripAdvisor reviews, I booked this hotel for a long weekend getaway with my husband. The hotel was conveniently located in walking distance to the French Quarter and was a short cab ride to the WWII Museum, the Garden District and other attractions. The lobby, an old bank, was really cool. Most of the staff we encountered...

Beautiful hotel. We were in New Orleans for the Rock & Roll Half Marathon and we were right at the start line!! I do feel sorry for the patrons that we're not interested in the race because I'm sure it was a loud start to their morning. Would definitely stay here again.

They may have the best bedding I have every encountered at any price hotel! Lobby is nice and honors the bank that use to be there. It's a nice boutique hotel, just a few blocks from French Quarter, and WWII museum.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
