Really pleased with our experience at The Whitney. Loved the history behind the building. Room was very nice and and spacious. Location is far enough away from night life, but close enough for walking or catching trolley to all parts of the city.

The Whitney is an incredibly pleasant, quiet hotel and we always enjoy our stays there. The staff is very helpful and attentive. This is our second time at the Whitney, and we always find it to be a very peaceful, restful stay. it's within walking distance of the French Quarter (5-10 minute walk), but it's much quieter than the madness... Wow! The Whitney Hotel is such a beautiful, historical hotel and it was just a quick walk to the French Quarter. The room felt luxurious and the service was great. And Earl at front desk was a gracious host. I will recommend it for sure.

Don't do it BC they will over draft your account and when trying to get in touch with them about the over draft they always say the computer down and as I was calling they answer and hang up someone and doing right by the hotel

This beautiful old hotel is in a perfect location for exploring New Orleans. The service was excellent, we were on our honeymoon & upgraded to a suite. We would recommend this hotel as a quieter place from which to explore the French quarter

We made reservations over the phone days before we arrived. On the afternoon we arrived they had given us a smaller room than we reserved. The staff was more than grateful to fix the problem. They gave us a bigger room and we very friendly and kind. Hotel has a lot of character, and charm.

this is my preferred place to stay when I am in New Orleans. Centrally located, always clean, and stocked with the best staff I encounter on any of my trips. with so many other hotels in the NOLA CBD area, I have found the Whitney is the best

Across street from federal courthouse so ideal for attorneys with business there. Comfortable bed but significant road noise. Somewhat outdated but great value for location. No one in dining area for breakfast on Monday morning, so food somewhat delayed. Would return.

I stayed in this hotel for a few nights before a cruise. It was a great location to explore New Orleans. Close to trams, French Quarter, Garden District and Wharehouse District. Great coffee nearby at Pulp and Grind and great vegetarian food nearby at Carmo. All the hotel staff were friendly and helpful.

We enjoyed our stay and the hotel staff was very accommodating. The bed was uncomfortable in our first room and we were moved to a larger room at no additional charge. The front desk helped us with recommendations for restaurants and sites to see. The building was a classic bank building and was very ornate

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
