The Whitney Hotel is still one of the best kept secrets in the Business District of New Orleans. The hotel was conveniently located. I really appreciated the professionalism and courtesy extended by the hotel staff. They were very accommodating and helpful.

Overpriced for quality of the rooms. Needs to be upgraded. Doors required a lot of slamming & pushing to lock. Not safe. But breakfast is overpriced. Elevators are slow. I would most likely stay again, only if there are no other alternatives.

The Whitney Hotel is excellent. This is our 3rd stay and again the staff and service was excellent. The rooms are clean and provides great views onto Poydras Street. The hotel is in walking distance to all of the venues that we go when visiting New Orleans. The Whitney is our top hotel preference.

I would definitely recommend the hotel to others staying in the city. A very short walk to the French quarter, but a nice area to walk around in. Hotel room was on the smallish side, but clean and functional. Staff were friendly and helpful.

The hotel was very nice, the ckerk at checkin and at checkout was very pleasant. The workers for valet parking was very nice. The room just small the room was clean just a very tight place in a double room.

Very nice location, convenient to Quarter, Canal and Business district, but away from the less desirable commotion of street people found on Canal Street. Parking charge slightly higher than other hotels in the area, and not a large valet area for parking. Pleasant experience, and we will return.

Amazing location without the noise of the area around the water or French quarter. Good rooms, good service, and cool history. Didn't have the breakfast so can't speak to that, but the staff were knowledgeable about the area

Our room was a queen room that was very tight when walking around the bed. There was one other chair that you could sit on but it butted up against an amoire that the TV was in so it really didn't leave a whole lot of room. You certainly couldn't sit in the chair and watch TV comfortably because you...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
