This hotel had been recommended by a relative and it was perfect. The rooms were beautiful and the employees were friendly. We were in the French Quarter area and were able to walk everywhere we went. We were able to take Decatur Street to the French Market. We also rode the Hop-on Hop-off bus which took you to at least...

Me and wife spent 4 days in new orleans. This hotel is excellent in location. Front door opens into the French quarter. Back door leads to the Treme. Right beside Armstrong park. Breakfast leaves a little to be desires with peaches and tomatoes but the majority of the guest were European so it catered to them. Lovely pool area and...

Thanks so much for the favorable review, Curtis. Sounds like you might have had breakfast at the Ritz Carlton, so we'll definitely let them know the peach and tomato combo wasn't a fan favorite. We look forward to seeing you on your next trip to New Orleans!

Located on Iberville which is only blocks away from Bourbon, Royal and Decatur Streets; where most of the French Quarter action is located. This hotel shares space on the block with the Ritz and its Spa. The rooms are spacious, clean and modern in decor. The staff was friendly and offered maps and help finding certain landmarks. The fitness room was...

We stayed 4 nights to visit the French Quarter. Great location, walkable to so many restaurants, bars and sites. It's a couple blocks from Bourbon St. but far enough away that it's quiet there. This hotel is connected to the Ritz-Carlton. You can even order food from their kitchen if you like - dine in or room service. With Platinum...

Very nice hotel! Only a block from the action on bourbon street. Connected to the Ritz. Parking is expensive, wish we had noticed the parking right across the street for about $11 less over night. Would stay here again. Got a good rate with AAA discount

Nice room and a friendly staff. Block and a half from Bourbon St. Great location to restaurants and attractions. Good water pressure and hot water. I would stay here again. Older hotel but well maintained. Big screens with HD service.

We have just returned from a 6 day stay in New Orleans. We stayed at the Courtyard by Mariott on Iberville for the full duration. What struck me first is how close we were to all of the main streets in the French Quarter. Everything that we needed was within walking distance. When we arrived, we were easily checked in...

We're so happy you enjoyed staying with us on your New Orleans vacation, and that you and your husband enjoyed staying in one of our suites! Also, you'd be surprised (or then again, maybe you wouldn't) at how many guests comment on how nice the lobby smells; it's a signature scent used only at Courtyard. We hope to welcome you...

We were very satisfied with our stay here. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and clean. The location to New Orleans , Bourbon street where all the action is. We enjoyed a lot of good live music here. We also hired a terrific guide Elizabeth through Free tours by foot.

Thanks for your review, Charles. We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience at our hotel with other travelers. The hotel is attached to the Ritz Carlton and you can walk through the Ritz to get to Canal Street which is a main thoroughfare. The Marriott is what you would expect and is kept up well. Be aware though the part of Iberville it is on is somewhat sketchy at night. Travel in a group.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
