It is just off Canal Street, which gave us easy access to street cars (get a Jazzy Pass) and it is easy to bypass some of Bourbon Street to get to other places... Our room was beautiful and well appointed and housekeeping was awesome... The front desk helped us with transport to the airport and many questions we asked... In all, this was a perfect spot to explore the French Quarter if you wanted to be close to Bourbon Street... This was minor considering the location and service...

We were very happy with our stay here. Two couples came to NOLA for the first time, and the location is close enough to walk to all the French Quarter has to offer, without the noise of Bourbon Street. Our rooms were very clean, nicely appointed and updated - great size, with the living room separate, nice tiled bathroom and a very comfy bed. Shelita at the front desk was AMAZING - quick with recommendations, a smile, a wave - just fantastic. The only real complaints we had were that there was 1-ply toilet paper (ugh) and that when they came to clean the the room, they didn’t replace the empty tissue box (all THAT took was a call to the front desk and they fixed it immediately.) Thanks for a great first time in NOLA!!

When we first arrived, we were confused at where the front/main entrance was located. The cab dropped us off at the velet entrance, however there was no one on duty and all doors were locked. This was 2P in the afternoon. We called the hotel from our cells but no answer. The other guests that were waiting to get in also tried. Finally someone that was staying there walked up and used his keycard to get in so we followed him. The location and staff were excellent. Everything is walkable from this hotel. The customer service from the front desk staff was great no matter who was on duty. Even the young man who staffs the front desk at 4/5AM acknowledged us professionally and with a smile. I would not stay here again though due to the rooms. I can't stand when hotels cut corners at the customer's expense. The lighting in the rooms are horrible. Some of the worst I've seen. As if the poor lighting wasn't bad enough, one of the lights in our room didn't work, and another quit working during our stay. So we had two lights that didn't work in an already poorly lit room. One would think at least the bathroom would be properly lit but it wasn't either. The bathroom exhaust fan also did not work, so we had to deal with a muggy bathroom that smelled of mildew. We had to Lysol the entire room in an effort to alleviate the smell. We couldn't change rooms because we booked a double-king suite (room 410) and there were none left. For the amount of money we paid for the room, it left much to be desired. Another issue with the room was the mirror situation. There isn't a full length mirror anywhere in the room. There's the mirror in the bathroom above the sink, and another half mirror above the fridge area. To make matters worse, it's impossible to get close enough to these two mirrors to be able to see your face closeup or do any kind of makeup application. A full length mirror is a basic amenity, even the 'Inns' have those. There were also stains on the comforter as well as one of the pillows cases which led me to question if these were changed between guests. Also, there are no microwaves in the rooms. Guests have to use microwaves in common areas which are the lobby, and a few select floors. Hopefully they will address these issues during the room renovations. There are heavy renovations ongoing and you will have to walk through plastic sheets, tape and cardboard, so if that is something that will bother you, chose elsewhere. Due to the room issues, we won't be staying here again. Far too many better options in the area.

I would not stay at this hotel again. The comforter on the bed was not clean. I requested that it be changed but it still appeared dirty and dingy. Maybe they need new comforters? There was no safe in the room. Only Marriott I’ve ever stayed in with no safe. We needed toilet paper which I requested twice but did not receive. I finally had to go down to the desk and get it myself. The bedside tables were out of balance so the drawers wouldn’t stay closed. Wobbled every time they were touched. The morning of our departure we realized that we had no towels, just the two hand towels that we had been using and we’re not replaced. Waited almost 30 minutes for someone to bring us some. Housekeeping department needs serious improvement. There are many places to stay in New Orleans so we will not be returning here.

The hotel did just enough for me to he able to stay there. I can’t just stay anywhere and if you’re hesitant, this one fits the bill. Not glamorous by any stretch of the imagination. Their staff was friendly and informative. I always had my questions answered. The room was just ok.

My wife and I decided to go to New Orleans in August (2023) - the travel rates are much lower and places not as busy (of course, some are on limited hours as a result). The down side is that it was so very hot, ranging from high 80s and 90s to over 100F and very humid. We still had a great time and enjoyed the food as well as generally excellent service everywhere. We stayed here and enjoyed the location - it was a block from Bourbon Street, and that kept it nice and quiet but still close to the action. It is just off Canal Street, which gave us easy access to street cars (get a Jazzy Pass) and it is easy to bypass some of Bourbon Street to get to other places. Our room was beautiful and well appointed and housekeeping was awesome. The front desk helped us with transport to the airport and many questions we asked. In all, this was a perfect spot to explore the French Quarter if you wanted to be close to Bourbon Street. On the downside, they were in the middle of renovations, so our extra room requests could not be honored (not a big deal) and there was loud work going on the whole time we were there (only during the days) as well as some rearranged elevators. This was minor considering the location and service. Highly recommended!

The rooms are large and spacious and perfectly suited for New Orleans with blackout shades. Courtyard is not a full-service hotel, but it is staffed 24/7. All staff are friendly and accommodating. It's attached to the Ritz, which gives you Ritz amenities without the Ritz price tag. Keycards are needed to get into the room elevator, which is separate from the lobby elevator, which is likely an added security feature. The valet cost is spicy. The lobby only has a small store, but there are many Walgreens close. The location is perfect, because it's close to Bourbon, but doesn't have the loud chaos of being on Bourbon. This was our second stay, 10/10 would stay again.

Couldn't ask for a better location.  Just on the edge of French Quarter (inside) but not kept up all night from insanity on the streets.  The hotel is conveniently attached to the Rtiz Carlton New Orleans, however, on the back side (side closer to French Quarter).  So as you are being dropped off make sure you advise them the Courtyard by Marriott not Ritz Carlton by Marriott.   During our stay we had incredible service from a few special folks.  These 3 team members really made our stay over the top.  They were courteous, helpful, hospitable, super friendly, and came with a can do and resolution attitude.  We really didn't ask for much during our stay, but these three came at our requests with all you would expect from a Hospitality Pro.  Dionel (Eng), Kennedy (Front Desk), and Donald (Housekeeping).  Thank you, thank you, thank you for making this stay even that much better! We for sure would stay at Courtyard by Marriott New Orleans again if we were to visit.  It really became a home away from home for the week.

The stay was great and that was mostly due to the staff. Upon check in we were given a room where the air conditioner was not working but the staff handled the situation immediately. Throughout our stay the staff was friendly, helpful, and just went above and beyond to take care of their guest. The hotel is located in the best place if you don’t want to stay right in the middle of bourbon and all the action but it’s just a short walk away. I will definitely stay here again!

As much as I loved the location of this hotel, I will not be coming back. My friend and I had a bad 3 night stay from the moment we entered our room that smelled very very musty and almost moldy (this was apparently a non smoking room). The carpet had a very large odd stain and it was quite obvious the furniture had not been dusted in some time. It was basically the bed that looked like the only thing touched and had been cleaned. We had an unfortunate situation when we returned to our room Saturday early evening and noticed there was an ant outbreak happening on the carpet floors. There was different trails going on in the living room part of our suite and even in the bedroom area. Overall, it was not okay nor sanitary so we called to change rooms. Apparently there was no rooms available, but after us having to emphasize the problem they managed to have an accessible room available for us on the 8th floor. Fast forward to returning back home and going over my emailed copy of the bill...I notice there is over $100 of incorrect charges. After almost 2 weeks since my stay, I am STILL trying to speak with management to have these charges and inconveniences fixed. I have called almost every other day only to be sent to two different manager's voicemails. No response back. I have spoken with the front desk ladies who have ensured that I will receive a phone call back after valet and accounting check the parking tickets. No response back. It has now got to the point where it's just unprofessional and quite frustrating when all I would like is to receive the incorrect charges back to my card. (The photos I've attached is to show the stain with scattered ants surrounding it. This area was right next to our bed. Note there were still other areas in the room that had trails of ants going across the carpet/scattered.) On a positive note, I will give the front desk workers a positive review during our stay who were always very polite and friendly! Thank you for that!
