Clean, resonably priced. Pleasant staff. 5 minute walk from the French Quarter. Historic Building with modern ammenities. Used to be a Sears Roebuck long time ago. two minute walk to nearest trolley stop on Canal Street.

This hotel was in a convenient location for getting around town - cable car stops just a block away. There is a 24 hour convenience store on the corner for your needs (as well as a Walgreens and CVS one block away). We had a junior suite which was spacious. The rooms could use a little bit of updating and...

Located just off French Quarter on Barronne St, this hotel offers comfortable rooms, coffee shop and even a 60's type diner. Parking is pricey ($20 per night) but so is all of New Orleans. Nice work out area, huge lobby, free papers. I would go back.

This is a nicely renovated old Art Deco hotel with a good location near Bourbon St and the trolley cars. We have stayed there twice on bargain rates from discount sources. The first time we had a very nice large room with exterior window. The second time we had a micro-room with window to hallway. That means if other guests...

Though no fault of the hotel; the one-way streets in the neighborhood make getting to the hotel an adventure. But once inside, it was well worth the effort. The hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The art deco design really made the walk to our room interesting. The room itself was very nice. I normally have trouble sleeping in...

The hotel was very nice and comfortable. This was my first stay at this hotel and I would not hesitate to stay again. The only negative was the amount of time it took to get the car from Valet Parking.

The Wyndham is kind of a strange property with a strange vibe. Check-in staff was friendly enough, but the hotel lobby seems incomplete, with unused furniture pieces and large empty spaces all around. My room had a window facing the hallway and was very noisy with drunken revelers carrying on all night, even knocking on my door at 2 in...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
