The location of this B&B could not be more perfect. Just a block or two from the edge of the French Quarter means you are just a few minuted walk from all the action but do not have to hear the late partiers. We stayed in the suite on the very top floor and it was just amazing. Cindy has... More

We stayed at Cindy's beautiful B&B in November. She was a superb hostess, who is the physical embodiment of Southern hospitality. She shared her vast knowledge of the area including dining options, music venues, quality historical tours and excellent directions to get us to everything safely. Her delicious breakfasts included coffee, fruit and a main dish (almond french toast and... More

My wife and I recently spent six nights at Monrose Row for the first weekend of JazzFest (plus some more time, obviously). I've been to Nawlins many times, but had never stayed in Treme before, but a good friend stayed at Monrose Row two years ago, and highly recommended it. As the reviews indicate, he wasn't lying. Cindy is a... More

My husband and I booked Monrose Row after our daughter stayed there last year for Jazzfest, and couldn't stop talking about it. We have never stayed at a B and B before. If you want to know how much we enjoyed ourselves, and appreciated Cindy's hospitality, just know that I am typing this from my iPhone at the airport! I... More

Monrose Row is located on a beautiful tree lined street, just a minutes walk away from the hustle of the French Quarter. The interior is immaculately designed, perfectly clean and super comfortable. Cindy is a brilliant, helpful and charming host. I can't recommend this place enough.

We had a wonderful suite in an historic home with a delightful B&B owner. The rooms were large, comfortable, modern - with an atmosphere of colonial New Orleans. This B&B is not in the French Quarter (about 15 minute walk from the interesting part of the French Quarter), but it is peaceful. Our cab driver had some trouble finding it... More

My husband and I spent four nights at Monrose Row and plan to stay there again next time we are in New Orleans. Cindy is a great host - makes a delicious breakfast, provides excellent recommendations, and has a beautiful, well-maintained home. We would recommend Monrose Row to anyone looking for a comfortable, affordable, and sweet place to stay.

Monrose Row is a quiet, super super clean, stylish B&B. The Treme neighborhood is just outside of the French Quarter, and it has more permanent residents than it does tourists. Pretty cool. We stayed at Monrose Row two nights as part of a cross-country road trip. Cindy, the innkeeper, directed us towards the most amazing restaurants and was generous with... More

Just spent five nights at Monrose Row. As all of the other reviews have stated, CIndy is the quintessential hostess. Nothing has been overlooked. We stayed in Room #3 as a king- very comfortable. Breakfasts were ample and delicious. Take Cindy's advice for restaurants and sightseeing and you'll never go wrong. Would definitely return.

Cindy, the Innkeeper of Monrose Row is a long-term resident of New Orleans who has cultivated an excellent bed and breakfast experience. The bed and breakfast offers spacious accommodations that are quiet, clean and beautifully decorated. Because of Cindy's keen eye for detail, she has cleverly combined two row houses into one spacious property which isn't obvious until she shares... More

Staying in Treme

Neighborhood Profile
Treme
That sound? That flavor? That certain je ne sais quoi that lets you known you’re in “Nawlins” and nowhere else? It’s all good and in broad abundance on the streets of Tremé, where so much of what’s considered to be the very best of New Orleans culture and tradition is, put simply, just how people go about their daily lives in this historic part of town. As one of America’s oldest African-American neighborhoods and among the nation’s first established residential areas for free people of color, Tremé’s significant heritage and contribution cannot be understated. This is especially the case when considering some of Tremé’s most famous residents, most notably jazz great Louis Armstrong. For full flavored food, funky and jazzed up music, and vibrant street life presented with homegrown pride, you can’t beat a visit to Tremé.
